Showtime is still under construction

Well it has been a while since I have posted any pics of this truck, the reason is because I haven't had a lot of time to work on it. It was close to completion but then I wasn't very happy with the way the lower chassis looked so I rebuilding it. Then there are alot of other little things that I decided to change in the process. Plus on top of that I am working on 2 other project trucks at the same time. I just like to have other projects so that if I get stuck on one then I can just work on the other. I don't get to work on them everyday so be patient with me I will be adding the other two truck a bit later....they are going to be called "ALTERED" and "EXIBIT"...so keep an eye out for them. As always comments are always welcome.

Here is the last pic that I posted of my project:

Here is the chassis as it sits now:

I appreciate all the comment and I am glad you guys likey so far. I have to give props on the tubework to Hulkwerks, I drew out a design and he built it. The change on the chassis was just an afterthought that I had. My favorite color is silver and second is blue so I figured why not, it is actually a metallic silver powdercoating topped with candy blue......Perfect8)

trickedoutnylint06 it is actually a parma hemi motor but I changed it up to look like a ford engine. I wish it was real....

octigonwallrus I am not a minitrucker but I actually used to be a lowrider. The last car I had was a 1995 Fleetwood Caddilac...but it has been sold, I would really like to find a 1961 Chevy Impala but those are very hard to find for sale.

Looks good but the angle on those rear lower links seems a bit steep. I think you could have benefitted by making the lowers considerably longer. Doing so would protect your driveshafts a bit better too.

I have been doing alot of my own tube work, but I find its very difficult to do any entire chassis. I know myself, personally, I am not ready to do an enitire chassis yet. Its not easy keeping all bends uniform and everything square. Ill keep working on my exo cages, interior cages, bumpers etc for now and maybe one day ill try a chassis.

Thanks guys but like Mike said I wasn't ready to take on a whole chassis so I hit up Hulkwerks and send him a drawing of the chassis that I wanted to be made. Another thing was I didn't really have the time to build one myself. Now that I am more familiar with metal work then I can build my own. I will post pics of another project that I am working on at the same time as this one.

octigonwallrus 07-27-2006 11:38 PM

Patience is the most common tool you'll need when building a full tuber. ;-)

octigonwallrus I actually got my username from a 1979 Monte Carlo that was featured in Lowrider Magazine a long time ago, he had a number of different parts that were fabbed to fit the Monte. It was very suttle stuff so you could only notice what he did if you knew the car well.

Jason hit it right on the nose, patience is key.
