Holy Crap! What an awesome place! I live in Princeton and my two sons and I just got into crawling with 3 SCX-10's.

Notice you have several fire dept references and a response truck. Do you run on a dept? I am a flight paramedic with Carilion Life-Guard 11. Quite possible we have crossed paths on some scenes if so.

We'd love to come by sometime if you're up for it.

Awesome work!

Well Thank you!

I do not run on a fire department although I used to be an EMT & ski patrolled at Winterplace and worked as a river ranger for the National Park Service at New River Gorge & I flew with Health net a few times. We worked on a project with them GPSing Rocks suitable for landing on the Gauley river and I met a lovely flight nurse & when I did my EMT field time, I opted to fly with Health net rather than do ambulance time... so we may have crossed paths!

The fire trucks were built by a very good friend of mine who works at the arsenal in Radford as a fire fighter. The brush truck is a spot on replica of the truck he uses and the Power Wagon is a made up version with hand painted lettering from Draper Volunteer Fire dept. where he lives and volunteers so..... you may have crossed paths with him as well.

We tend to play indoors in the winter but I will PM you.

Here we are playing indoors:

Yeah I know exactly what you are talking about. I worked for HealthNet for 4 years before moving over to Life-Guard.

Thanks for the PM. Look forward to hearing from you when the weather improves.

Ah... I see you've been to Sweet's falls. I can't count how many times I wish there had been a helicopter on that rock.

And my hat's off to you... Doing my EMT I flew four times & having dealt with Ambulance crews for years, I was impressed with everyone on the helicopters. The pilot was Vietnam Vet & we landed in a power line cut between transmission wires with the doors open & nurses spotting the lines for him. We flew 4 times that day and the helicopters don't fly for silly stuff & I was very impressed with how skilled and efficient all the flight nurses were. At the NPS we dealt with river incidents and a lot of falls from the cliffs & what a contrast after interfacing with the ambulance crews, even the ALS crews.

I have decided to rearranged some and have brought in pea gravel and sand to create scale roads.

So... it's been a busy year for me but we managed to make time to play last weekend. We met later in the day with intensions of running late into the night so there was a lot last minute gluing of lights. I did some upgrades to my Gelande 2, lights & metal Gmade wheels & mud country tires and an ARB unicorn push bar with a winch thingy on front. The heavier wheels on the Gelande lowered the CG a lot and really made it perform well.

I'm curious. Do you ever change up the paths? I know after a while on mine I knew all the lines and it wasn't that fun anymore.

Thanks, unfortunately I didn't shoot any video. I've had a busy year so far and hadn't had much play time & spent most of the day just driving with my friends.

I find it easier to make videos when it's just me and my kids & I can play with the camera & they drive.

Some, I do. I also try to add to it although it's getting to the point that I'm having a hard time maintaining what I have. But yea, I'm always moving rocks around. I also will make a little side trail one year and then the next year, I neglect to keep it cleared out & it gets overgrown and then after a while, I clear it out again and it's like a new trail.

I was in a hurry with the pics. Here are a couple more I missed.

Also, I had been working on an elaborate interior lighting system for the service station and just couldn't quite pull it together in time which demotivated me to accessorize it... didn't even put the garage doors on... as a result, I didn't take that many pictures of it... next time.

I think I read somewhere that you are in VA as well...
I stumbled across some of your pics on the mini-junkyard (err something) site, and they inspired my buddy and I to create a scaler park in my front yard.
thanks for the inspiration, and you are welcome to stop by whenever you like.
I'll get some pics up....some time...
the (private) course is in it's 5th month, and while it's shadowed by the skill invested in Wolf Creek, it's impressive how far we've come in such a short time...
