| Fenders, what do you use?
I'm lookign at building some fenders for my rig... I want to hide the wheels a bit more....as the body is a little narrow. I was wondering what you guys have done to build fenders? Looking to build on the cheap.... |

| Re: Fenders, what do you use? Yea, I thought about dingo flares....they're a little flexible and they look decent. I was jsut wondering what people used to make fenders/flares with....I know of styrene, but I was thinking of other materials, or re-purposing something to make fenders....like the CD covers for wheel wells. |

Maybe a cottage cheese container or something with a lip on it. Cut to fit and paint. Use 2.6mmx3 tapping screws and attach lip to body. Just an idea.

not much to spend....but I also gotthe idea of narrowing the axles.....but i'm not sure how easy that'd be. and SDI looksliek a great place...but little out of my price range...I love those axles though!

Price wise, if you try to diy narrow your axles and mess them up, its gonna cost you more than a set of flares from SDI. Just my .02... Plus narrowing an already what looks to be top heavy truck is only gonna make it that less capable. Keep looking around. There are plenty of good resources here. You may just have to get creative. Perhaps find another hard body and rob the flares off it and find a way to attach them. Good luck man!! Plus 1 on the good looking truck!!! | |

Use what you got of somethin' you don't use. Pretty inexpensive. |

I used some plastic flashing and glued it to a lexan body. It was real easy to work with and I have tons left. Here is a pic, the body was painted on the outside. |
