| Chassis mounted steering for Wronchos and 1.9 Wraiths
While I was in the process of mounting the new Jeep body on my Wroncho, and building my 1.9 Wraith. I was trying to figure out a good way to do a chassis mounted steering set-up on both rigs. After some pondering, and a little scratching of the head. I realized I could use parts from the Hand Brothers SCX10 chassis mounted steering, in conjunction with the Vanquish Products Wraith CMS kit. I used the Vanquish Wraith CMS/panhard mount on the 1.9 Wraith chassis, and married it to the Hand Brothers axle bracket/3 link. I am also running the Axial's HC aluminum knuckles, which made the switch really easy. You can also do the exact opposite for Wroncho builds as well. I don't have photos of the Wroncho set-up right now, but I will get some posted soon. Both set-ups bolted on without issue, you just need to get the drag link lined up with the panhard bar properly to avoid bump steer. Last edited by BENDER; 07-25-2012 at 01:11 PM. |

What's your wb? Seems the placement of the vp wraith cms mount is meant for a long-ish wb. Unless the servo and panhard bar are connected behind the cms mount perhaps. On my to try next list it is.

Both rigs are running Axial's 100mm comp shocks. The front shocks on the Wroncho have been limited internally by about 3/8".

What did you use to mount the panhard bar to the SCX frame? Do you have more pics of the mounting? Thanks in advance man, your Wroncho was the inspiration to my build. You probably hear that a lot.lol. |

That is the Hand Brothers CMS bracket. It holds the servo and the frame side of the panhard bar. I will see if I can get some better photos for you. | |

Bender, Sorry to dig an older thread, I'm wondering what servo you reccomend for a Wroncho setup. I've just stripped gears on 2 220oz servos. I want reliability. Thanks! - Demo

I have the level3 racing cms kit for my 1.9 wraith and my pan hard connect to the knuckle pin ( I know not the best). And on my wroncho I did a homemade cms setup similar to the hand bros setup and connected the pan hard bar to the level 3 axle mounts. I. Running stock wraith shocks in the front of my wroncho and I have them limited slightly. My 1.9 wraith needs different shocks but it has night crawler shocks up front and wraith rear

The other option like I did is to run the vp cms kit flipped so to speak and have the servo front facing down and the run a panhard to the bolt hole that the cms braces on to someone else did it on here just look up all the 1.9 wraiths and u will find it o and by the way MY WHEELBASE IS ONLY 11.25" WITH A DINGO BODY AND ZERO PROBLEMS WITH THE CMS PANHARD SETUP
