Here is my playground I call it "Crawler ville" the COURSE I work at a mine, so all the cool rocks I want I use alot of filler stuff because I don't have the dirt I want to get the height, like wood pallets, we cut down 6 trees a year, so I use the lower part of the tree, saw horse with plywood screwed down, each side with two diff angles, 50 gallon drums (I get these all day long free from work) but mostly I use; Turf "grass" This stuff is the bomb! It all started when I cut sections out of my my front lawn. I cut the first 10' roll and pushed it aside. Then thought, I could put chicken wire over it & concrete it So after I ran out of lawn, I now go on our local F/S board You would be surprised how many people call you, when you offer to pull up their lawn - after I lay the sod down and put a few rolls on top - I use alot of plastic trash bags, fill in the deep holes (so I don't use more concrete than needed) - then I chicken wire it, I cut 30 or so bailing wire 6" long with a make shift hook on the end, to push down in the grass and the hook grabs the chicken wire. It keeps the chicken wire close to the grass that way. Its mainly for my scalers and comp rigs....My 1/18 mini crawler can go through alot of batteries and still not hit every line I want to make one a little more scale, so you don't see the fence in the background or my barrels a few pics Even Comp rig lines 77 bags of concrete so far $319, and bringing home rocks, barrels and wood pallets since 2007 Last edited by prusik333; 07-08-2014 at 04:33 PM. |

P.S. If you look close in the shot looking down the bridge with no trucks on it, there is a lizzard that looks like a scale iguana. He's real & seems to have found a home. I've seen him several times on the bridge sense then. Nice course Prusik! I respect you guys that haul rock. If mother nature hadn't of done me the way she did, I wouldn't be able to hold a candle to you guys. Last edited by DRW-FJ40; 09-13-2012 at 10:28 AM.

| Re: RC Scale Trail I did see the lizard in the pic, but figured it was just another one of your cool little hidden details I am kind of surprised that more people have not added their courses, images or tips and tricks to this thread sooner. There seemed to be an awful lot of wants, desire and complaints for a thread like this, but now that there is a start, interest of posting them is minimal. My guess is this is exactly what the reluctance of creating a whole new section was by the administrators. On the other hand, if after me creating and opening this sticky it had gotten overwhelming response, images and info.... Maybe it would have swayed the admins for a new section. At least that is what I was hoping for. Things could change and this sticky could blow up with traffic, but as things are with the minimal posts and info...... It may simply remain a sticky forever if y'all want a new section just for this subject.... Let's get this 20 pages deep of awesome images and helpful information before anyone can blink and prove not only the want but the need for it. |

There are a lot more threads out there scatterd about. I know for a lot of people, myself included, you get an idea & go full steam ahead for a while & then get on something else. I went for a long time on the park & realized I hadn't built a truck in over a year. I really haven't built much new on the course since spring. Also, it's not the sort of thing that is going to explode because it doesn't have the corporate backing & advertising that a new kit release will nore can you build something like this in your basement in a couple of evenings. But I think it's good for the hobby & I think a lot of people like checking it out. Also, I think the long term interest is there. people are still commenting on the thread I started in comments. There is also cross over topics that aren't included in the sticky like garages or service stations that can be part of a large scale course but also can be just a cool hobby by itself & a place to take pics of vehicles. And there is posting vs. viewing. The courses generate a lot of interest I think but a lot of people don't have the space or permanance of residence to build one. There are other forums that have dedicated scale course sections but none of them get the number of posts that a TF2 or SCX10 section do but it's a cool aspect of the hobby I think & that's enough for me to warrent it but... I'm not in charge... story of my life. But I have just appointed myself as "President in charge of everything" here in my little world. Maybe I'll make the lizard VP in charge of operations. |

For me, this goes beyond being a place to drive on and into a weird world of scale yard art. Here are the masters: |

There is a really large 1/16 scale indoor tank battlefield near us. 6K sq. ft. indoor course modeled after WWII France. He opened it up for RC trucks a couple of times: R/C Crawler Parade Danville May 2010 - YouTube
