|  i need ideas for making scale trailer hitch
not the receiver part. thats easy. allitle bar stock and tamiya ball end. im talking about the trailer side. any ideas on how to do this? something that looks close to real, and how to hold the tongue on the ball hitch? im drawing a blank on this one  would prefer it to resemble a newer style trailer with the sliding surge brakes.  |

Brass is easy to work with and solders with a iron.

lol. i know thats what im making the trailer out of. although i found a torch needed for the larger solid stock im using. i was more talking about the design. how to make something to go over the ball, and lock onto the ball to keep the trailer on the hitch. |

Can't you just use a ballcup/stud and put some material over it to disguise it?Unless I'm seeing that pic wrong.

This is a bad pic, but it works. I was able to machine down some 1/4" aluminum stock and then make a piece that would fit inside and slide back and forth. The inner piece holds onto the ball. You will need access to a mill to make it happen unless you are really good with a dremel.   Nate |
