Default scale frame material

so i finally finished my stock tlt, woo hoo! now want to start a sorta scale / backyard basher /crawler. i have 2.2 moabs, and prob will use bronco body. dont know on the tranny yet. see what i can find. i have searched and read alot but am trying to decide on frame material. i like the 1/2 inch sq tube, cut, welded and ripped. what else is good, easy to do? would alum same size be good too? thanks....this is a great site!

most chassis people make are from 1/4" aluminum, go to lowes, you'll find stuff

Another type of material you can find at lowes is 1/2x1/8 flat steel. If you can weld or braze it makes pretty convincing scale frame rails if you're going for a box type frame.

i offer the frame rails alone for pretty cheap out of square tube. if you send me a drawing i can bend and cut the frame just how you want then you can do whatever you want to it to finish it up!

Peej410,
i have seen your frames and some of the builds. They are awesome! Pretty much what i am hoping to do, although it prob wont be as clean as yours. but, i want to try to do it myself, for the fun and to keep it as budget as possible. got a bronco body from lhs, and will either use the 1/4 inch alum, or 1/2 " sq steel. and to all of you, thanks for the help.
