Default The Styrene Challenge - #1 - Toolbox

Here it is everyone, the first of hopefully many Styrene Challenges

The first challenge item will be a toolbox. Thats it! Do whatever kind of toolbox you want, big, small, simple, complex....

To enter, simply follow the rules below. No need to post up "Im in", as at the end of the 2 week period I will simply verify who all met the rules and enter them into the voting poll.

Rules:

- Contest is open to all RCCRAWLER members.
- No wood or metal is allowed, only styrene. Of course, glues, putty/filler and paint are allowed.
- Entrants must post at least 5 build pics along with the final piece (total of 6 pictures, all of which can be placed in a single post or throughout the two week build)
- Final piece must be painted - painting skills will not be a factor in the voting process.
- Must be a new build (piece cannot have already been made and posted elsewhere)
- Although not mandatory, feel free to offer your own tips and tricks during your build or at any time really.
- Must be as close to 1:10 scale as possible.

**Must have your entry posted by June 21st @ 8 pm CDT**

What does the winner get

The winner gets to choose the build item for the next weeks challenge

Good luck everyone!

Vote now!

Completely understandable Im just glad to have you here and showing interest along with all everyone else. Just for fun, I made a super simple, old wooden style toolbox in about 10 minutes. If I had the right colors it would have actually looked good. Basically 4 sides, bottom, and handle was all there was to it. Great to go in the bed of those old and rusty scale rigs

This sounds great but what if we do the majority of items in a scale other than 1/10? Just a thought for future builds.

Its not too late! To enter all you need to do is build the item, and have your 5 build pics and 1 pic of the finished item.

I would say since most of the rigs we build are between 1/8 - 1/10, the scale items should within that range. Its mostly a personal preference, something I wanted as part of the rules

The only place I know of that sells any styrene in Austin is Hobby Town and they only carry white Evergreen. I am planning on doing a bulk online order in a few days if you want to jump in on it.

Yeah, probably wouldn't hurt. I have three different interior builds coming up. Guess I'll have to improvise for now.

I'll start building my entry on Sunday.
