Default Scale measurements...

So I intend on building a 1:10 scale M100 trailer outta styrene...
just the tub... the frame will be welded steel.

so is the conversion from 1:1 to 1:10th scale...
1 ft (1:1) = 1.5" (1:10) ?

Thought I saw a similar build...
(or maybe it was a kit !?) of an early WWII 1/4 ton military trailer...
But now I can't seem to locate that
anyone know where that build thread is ? Link ?

thanks if you can offer any insight

yup, convert feet to inches first, then divide by 10 for 1/10 scale

1 foot = 12 inches / 10 = 1.2 inches.

nice find on that online converter. I have a similar app on my iphone, but more often than not I will just grab the calculator (it is usually faster than trying to get to/open/set up the app) =P

and hey, we cant all be accounting wizards, now can we? hehehe

For 1/10th scale, it's easy to do the conversion. You simply move the decimal point one place to the left to get the scale measurement.

Example: Let's say the wheelbase of a 1:1 truck is 107.5 inches. Move the decimal one place to the left, you get 10.75 inches.

If the track width of the 1:1 truck is 97 inches, moving the decimal one place to the left gives you 9.7 inches.

This works with any unit of measure; inches, feet, metric units, because you are dividing by a factor of 10.

See, the "scale" math is easy!!
