| Feeler/Preview - JCAD Scale Tech Wraith Chassis Rails
Something that I have always wanted to do was make the wraith cage legal for Class 2 Scale competitions. Some clubs allow 1.9 Wraiths to run, but for SORCCA events, you need a "Rail Chassis". So, I whipped this up in Solidworks to see what it would look like: This would be a direct replacement with absolutely no modification necessary. This maintains 100% of the original mounts including the sway bar mount. There are some extra upper link mount holes though to provide some tuning options (and get the rear geometry corrected). These would be made from Nylon and would come white or dyed black for a small upcharge. So, I wanted to see what you guys think of this, and if this is something that people want. I'm still working on pricing but if there is enough interest, I will start a pre-order thread and can discuss numbers there. Any suggestions on what you would like to see on something like this? I'm also thinking of offering a half chassis for the "truggy" style (back of skid plate forward) as well as a centered skid plate version and possibly a version that is made for an SCX10 skid plate (to get the rails more narrow). |

| Re: Feeler/Preview - JCAD Scale Tech Wraith Chassis Rails Thanks! That is going to be a separate piece, but I've already got that designed: Sorry that there's no pic of it (and that this pic has such an extreme drag link angle, the production mount has the servo lowered compared to this), but it mounts where the "electronics brace" used to mount. (And will be available in a few different options to allow wheelbase variations.) - I wanted to be able to offer that to stock wraith chassis as well. |

I would like to try, if the price isn't a pocket drainer. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk |

| Re: Feeler/Preview - JCAD Scale Tech Wraith Chassis Rails This is the part that might be a deal breaker for some. They aren't going to be cheap. These are printed by shapeways, since they have the ability to print something this size in one piece. Also due to the size, and the amount of material used, the price is sort of up there. Think somewhere around $80 for the pair. There is no less expensive way to get these done though, unless I can get 200 orders committed for an injection mold. I'll be ordering my prototype by the end of the weekend, and as long as it looks good, I will start the pre-order thread. |

Honestly, I don't see a problem with these being about $80 for the pair. You have drafted many great features into the frame rails, so I feel that you are getting a lot for that price. Keep in it, Jens! |

That is an awesome price for the amount of work going into it. With shapeways I think the price will be a bit higher than 80 per pair though.

| Re: Feeler/Preview - JCAD Scale Tech Wraith Chassis Rails I've got my prototype rails on the way from them, and the $80 is based on that price. I should have them by the end of the month, and hopefully not much longer after they will be available to order. Barring any major changes, it should end up right around that price.
