Advice? Um good luck!

Remember 1/4 eliptical will only work in the rear and you still need to run arms to stabalize axle movement, or bearing points, no springs on the shocks (if ou run any) only medium weight oil.

spring bolts to the chassis and free floats at the axle. movement needs to be about 1/4"

Ive run a full single leaf on my pyton truck without shocks and it did pretty well

good luck and post pics

why would it only work in the rear? A spring is a spring

I have yet to see a 1:1 quarter eliptcal that uses a shackle on the axle. usually the spring slides on a modded perch, and is actually not attached to the axle.

On a scale rig you could get away with it. but on full size the stresses pushing against the spring end cause it to collapse

I've seen quite a few 1:1's with shackles at the axle. That's why I did mine with shackles.

All 1:1s I've seen had the shackle as well. One company, either BTF or Spiderwerks sells the shackles with hiems specifically to work with 1/4 elliptic. The end of the leaf sliding sounds interesting though. Here's a pic of a friends S-10 with 1/4 elliptic rear.http://www.terratraction.com/gallery.../misc_pics_021
