Cletus be right at home there too. If you have an excess of steel lying around, maybe install a monorail? Escalator to nowhere? Tyre dump? So many option! Looks great . Hope you are as pleased with it as everyone else here is! Mint

That is Awesome. You have definitely put a lot of attention to detail into this. A lot of great ideas for me to build my own.

Best looking backyard crawl site ever, no question. My wife even likes it (its so cute) and she gets ill easily when the crawl site completely destroys the yard and I've shown her many that have. Awesome job.

What do you charge to come north and landscape my yard! You could have a business going making everyone on here a sick backyard!

I do like the idea of a tire dump...that's on fire. Cheers!

Still loving the non stop references. I checked the thread, but couldn't find a birds eye photo of the entire area. Maybe that and a Disneyland style map would be fitting.
There's very little meat in these gym mats.

I took this from the roof of me garage.

Will work for food and... food. That would be a fun business. I'll quit my job in the morning!

Thank you! Yeah, this is a lot more than a pile of rocks. It's a hobby in itself.

I talked to them and they said they'd be back in May. Flew south I guess.

Here's a picture from the other day. Another mild winter in Ohio this year.

And one more back when there was snow

I started on a new Smiggin related project. I've been wanting to build a little western town for a long time. I had an idea to build it along the fence across the yard of Smiggin's Folly. It will provide a neat photo backdrop and the bare wood should weather nicely. The best part is that the majority of the wood is scrap lying around the garage. Maybe I'll build a road to connect them some day.

If this guy picked up on large scale railroading we will never see him again.

While not to the same scale, i would still argue a G-scale track around that garden would tie it all together so nice.

A lot of DIY model making going on with the large trains too.

Noob, you might consider putting screening material in those windows, it'll become a haven for wasps and mud daubers.

I bought the same thing which is why all of the windows have lexan sheet in them. Hard to see in the pictures.

The drastic difference in scales would drive me mad! Although I do like trains.

Absolutely amazing eye for detail. I can only imagine the work that went into it as well as the maintenance. How do you keep the trees to a "scale" height?

Nothing more than some hand pruners. It's about that time of the year I do some thinning out too. The trails are getting a little tight.

Great work my friend. Your track is what helped me get motivated on mine. I have had it for two years now and I can agree with the maintenance lol. If I can ever get the whole picture thing figured out I want to put together a thread on it to share with the forum. I can't wait to see what your western town develops into, so don't let me down. . Jk.

After seeing your newest buildings, I had to search and post this. This is from the HBO series 'Deadwood', classic wild west stuff. Maybe some of the details from pics of the filming set can inspire new details.

Ok, wow. Forgot to post the progress on Smiggin's Gulch between all my comping and 8S monster trucking this summer. Let's get you up to speed!

I did some repairs to the outhouse. It's holding up quite well but the roof needed some attention.

All of the buildings and attractions stay outside all year in case anyone was wondering.

Albert went camping.

I made a jail from concrete! Pretty simple. Made a form, dumped some crete in it and success!

And here is what I made today. It starts with this redwood board I salvaged from work. I'm trying not to buy any material for these buildings. Plus the old wood has some great character.

Ripped it into strips

Made the structure from scrap 3/4" plywood.

Added real glass to the windows. Glass was in my garage when I bought my house. Knew it would come in handy some day. My first time cutting glass too. I think?

Then I got carried away...

What should this building be?

Tried my hand at a toe pincher. Leftovers from other buildings.

Displaying their product. The finest coffins in all of Smiggin's Territory.
