Default synthetic winch line on bulldog winch?

Hey everyone I have a question, I'm finally getting around to installing a winch on my wraith and wanted to go with synthetic winch line on my bulldog winch. Wanted to know the best way to go about doing this was cause I see that the spool has a set screw to hold metal winch cable in. Was thinking about taking out set screw and feeding through holes and knotting it up but I just wanna get some input, suggestions, advice any help would be greatly appreciated thanks for your time

why not just tie a loop in the end of the line
and put the screw thru the eye of that loop ?

If you stick the line into a threaded hole
then turn in the screw...
it could cut the line as the screw is threaded in.
tho' it's not the end if ya tried.

in the 1:1 winching world
it's required to maintain a couple wraps
on the spool when the line is fed out.

My 1:1 winch also has only one wee screw retaining the line to the spool.
If I spool my line out completely...
my winch rope will likely become detached from the spool
with minimal tension stressing the line.

that spool securing screw is not what holds the line on the spool.
It simply secures the end of the line to start the spooling process.

The remaining coupla' wraps on the spool
is what keeps the line from being pulled off the spool.

Just put it in like the wire line was in. Warn winch is the same way and comes with the synthetic line. I've never had a problem.
