Tamiya Bruiser ? I have a chance to buy a Vintage Original Tamiya Bruiser for just over two bills. It's in pretty rough condition and the radio gear box lid is missing. It hasn't ran in ten years or so, The motor/ trans & gears may be all seized up ? It does have the original 4ch Futaba stick radio, And body. I guess I am just blind sighted by the fact that's it's an original and I used to have one many many year's ago. Should I pay more than two bills for it / In rough condition ??? I have seen two pics of it & I would rate it at 5 to 6 out of 10 in condition. Re: Tamiya Bruiser ? Have he seller shook the motor up to a battery and see if drive train spins. It's unlikely that it's "locked up". I wouldn't pay more then 200$...body set new is a hundred bucks... What is your goal with it if you but it ? |

Re: Tamiya Bruiser ? Price seems reasonable, from looking at the pics, but that beast is gonna need a complete tear down and rebuild. That could cost a few more bucks to replace any destroyed vintage parts. It's up to YOU, as to how much time and effort you're willing to put into it. |
Re: Tamiya Bruiser ? if you get into tearing things down and doing alot of cleanup/refinishing it might be a good restoration project, but if you are wanting something you could use as a base for a scaler build that you would actually run i think you could do alot better with 200 bucks. |

Sorry it took so long to respond back the person on craigslist never e-mailed back after three days & two e-mails. So that deal went south. I did find another project it's a Vaterra 1969 Camaro 4x4 drift/race car for $75. RTR With a cheap esc and radio & a brushed motor. It's in rough condition also but at least this deal is going throw today around 5:30 The body in trashed the owner cut the wheel wells. Going to do my best to save it with a sheet of Lexan glued to the inter fender wells. Should be a fun cheap project, Just burned out with my 2 1/2 years scaler project.
