Did anyone here mod a solar servo for winch duty?

I've converted 3 Servos so for as my testing of a winch servo continues and I like the power the Solar D772 and the fact it's inexpensive.
I'm unsuccessful in finding dead neutral on this servo. I've tried multiple resistors (2kohm-4.2kohm-5.5kohm) with no luck. All the other modded Servos I've converted worked great with 2.2kohm. Any ideas? Thank you

Trash the board and either go heyok or small esc for a controller. Easier and 3s capable for the line speed.

A brushed esc right?

Can you just measure the resistance of the pot when the servo is not moving and use that value for your resistor?
