Really a great looking rig! The interviewer made a comment about a kit, is this FJ going to be offered that way eventually?

Watched the Nuremberg toyfair video, lower links are plastic very similar to WheelyKing lowers utilizing single shear mount at axle, panhard is aluminum, but single shear mount too. Battery clip hold down is cool, but only fits nimh, not lipo?

Kit would be nice.

I'm sorry but this release strategy is extremely frustrating.... we still dont have specific specs (wheelbase, width, dimensions, angle of approach, RELEASE DATE) or more importantly a PRICE. We have pictures, videos, etc but we still dont have a PRICE. I'm trying to form an opinion of whether this thing is going to be worthwhile to buy or not and a HUGE factor in a consumer making a purchase decision is based on the price. BigSquidRC even posted on their post today something to the effect of "preorder it soon before the first shipment sells out." That's all well and good, but A. what is the PRICE? and B. where are we even supposed to preorder it? I googled the part number for the kit and found nothing.

I feel like HPI has done this before with these new product releases and they are just frustrating... I mean compare it with Axial or Associated. They sometimes release a teaser to wet our appetites, but when they finally release a picture and the name of the vehicle, there's a price to go along with it so that people know whether or not the thing is even of any interest to them!

HPI could be on to something with this FJ, but without a price and now going on weeks of limited information, how are we even supposed to know if we want one or not? If the price is $300 then yea, I'll probably get one... but with a licensed body, all these aluminum pieces, and coming in RTR form, I'm going to guess this is going to be in the $400-$450 range... at which time I will pass.

Fits both LiPo and stick.

Thanks, love the BTA steering! Waiting for full details and price before passing judgment.

Could everyone whine a little more? I have an original Berg from 2006 with Single Sheer. Not a problem. None have ever bent and are made of cheap aluminum.

But OMG its so mandatory to have. Except it's not. And if you need it to sooth your soul, I'm pretty sure there will be aftermarket support coming once it is out in the wild.

If it fits NiMH, it fits plenty of the ROAR approved LiPo's being used to replace those now in Racing.

This is how the real car companies handle it. Announcement and Teaser. Followed by a release at a large show. Then 2-3 months later more details and pricing trickles out.

This isn't uncommon, and Axial has always done it as well. The internet and entitlement of society has really made people think they deserve information immediately. That's not how the business world works. They are done in stages for various reasons needed to make a new product.

i like it. very nice and tidy scale drivetrain, and any new rig from a company showing interest in the scene is good for business. hopefully axial sees this and the ascender and steps up the scx.

I certainly see some of the components making it into a few of my builds! Are all the gears in the trans and t-case metal? Are the axle gears RS4 based? May have to pick one of the kits up too!

All metal.

Axle and transfer case gears are new for the Venture. Gearbox gears are shared with the Savage XS.

Nice, all metal gears, diffs look smaller than Axial thankfully. Are all the metal gears hardened steel? Thanks for the pics Thad!
