Default Tommy R's Build Archive

Hey y'all,

So every now and then I find myself curious about something I did in a previous build. But sifting around trying to find older build threads can be a bit of a pain. So I decided to make a reference for myself here to make it easier. The builds are all listed from oldest to newest with the crawlers on top and a few drifters at the bottom. I've left out all my racing rigs.

Currently, all of these vehicles have mostly been completed, except for two which are under construction and one which has been abandoned for now.

Thanks, man.... The yellow TJ still needed finishing, to be honest, but I really do miss Big Oly. I don't often see Class 3 rigs built these days that are true to the spirit of the class (IMO). They look completely unrealistic and I was very proud of the fact that B.O. looked and performed the part! And it was heavy like a Class 3 should be, too! I really do miss it and often times wish I'd never sold it.

Cool list Tommy! I liked the TJ too. I have been pondering making one. I haven't built one because the WB is so short and wouldn't do good at SORRCA comps but I am moving away from making performing scalers, making more scale stuff...I got a XR10 and AX10 Sportsman for performance. I just think a TJ with a hardtop and RC4WD clear glass looks pretty sweet.

Let me know if you want to do a TJ build off.

Thanks, Justin! I actually have a New Bright TJ in the closet waiting for the right project. Right now I have a stock wheelbase SCX10.2, but was planning on a China JK (comp cut) to fit it. The TJ just looked too wrong on such a long wheelbase.

That being said, yeah, I might be up for a TJ build-off!! Could be fun!!

Cool idea for a thread...wasn't there talk a few years ago about having personal "garages" so to speak for members to post all of their rigs?

Anyway, I've always loved Big Oly. You should build another

Thanks! Not sure about the member garages idea, but I like it. I figured putting together an archive like this would be a "next best thing" and wish more folks would do it so I could keep up with some of my favorite builders and also see how their styles have evolved.

I loved Big Oly and I may build another C3 rig one day. It would absolutely NOT be competitive within SORRCA comps because I wouldn't compromise the scale looks or performance to win a trophy. Ha!
