Default Swb Redcat E10 scaler

I thought I'd share my build with the world since I couldn't find any info on this when I started.
I started with a Redcat everest 10, nothing close to a scaler.
After throwing ideas around I decided I was Gonna build a short wheel base crawler out of it.
I order a STRC scx10 short wheel base kit, used axial crossmemebers and shock mounts with the everest transmission, axles, driveshafts and electronics.

I started with tearing apart the redcat. Which was followed by assembling the STRC kit.
The redcat links took a little muscle to fit in the axial mounts but worked.
The transmission has 2 mounting holes that line up with the axial transmount. I'll drill another hole eventually.
Used mostly the STRC links, front lowers are redcat uppers. To help with pinion angle. Cut and shortened the driveshafts.
The axle link mounts all work with the kit, although I will be replacing the upper mounts with axial mounts in the future.
Still a working progress. I'll post more as I go.

What size shocks are you running? They seem a little long to me

They're 110mm. I'm probably gonna go with some shorter ones.

Sounds like same length that the everest came with and those are long for it.

Like the yj, I'm watching to see what you do with it.

I'll decide what I'm gonna do with shocks once I have the tires and body all set up. I tried putting 100mm shocks on it but with the shorter shock the servo would bottom out on the chassis. So I might try and 105mm
I started chopping up the body since I'm going for the YJ on tons look, it's gonna be comp cut with flat fenders

Might try a chassis mounted servo, but figuring out a panhard setup might be difficult. That's where I am with my everest axle build.

Iv thought about that too. I might try to do that as well. Need to read into it a little more first but a Panhard kit on ebay is like 15 bucks.
Would do high steer knuckles for a scx10 too. Just need the knuckles and outer bearings

I believe also c-hubs, but not for sure. I've axialed my rear axle but haven't the front yet.

I believe the Cs work with the axial knuckles

Went on vacation but I got a little done to my crawler. I moved the battery, esc and receiver box to the front of the chassis. I need to replace the front axle housing as well. Broke the link/shock mount off

Nice work. We are starting an 80 series build on an e10 platform. It seems the easiest way to make the wheel wells line up with tires, is to shorten the links. It looks really long with the stock frame and 1.9 rims and associated tires.

Stock e10s are super long, great for crawling not so much for scaling. I had originally built this with an scx10 chassis and links which looked great but was still to much frame and wheel base for the yj body. Iv been messing around with it still and think I'm gonna need to get shorter shocks and push the wheel base out for just a little more

Installed 90 mm shocks and have the lowering kit from level3rc for adjustment. It seems like it's going to work. Shortening makes the tailshaft angles a tad nastier, but should be okay. Not going for land speed record with it.
