Due to it's great potential, this truck reminds me of this great book!

Does it look like the body is painted on the outside? Almost looks like a vinyl wrap?

I was thinking it may be a hardbody.

Anybody got one of these yet and tried it out? How customisable is it? Is there much in the way of hop-ups etc? Just getting released in Oz and so wondering if worth getting as a starter kit for my two kids.

Seems like a decent little rig for $299.00 - That said, you can score a tried and true SCX10 Deadbolt for the same money, and have all the readily available aftermarket support. My guess would be that a lot of stuff will "cross-pollinate" to the Carisma either readily, or with slight modifications. Also guessing AsiaTees /Boom will be offering hop-ups for it. IDK, If I were looking for a budget RTR, I'd still go with the Axial for the previously mentioned reasons. But, it can only benefit the scale market overall when more companies and models get involved - the more the Merrier I say! There's also the Redcat Everest Gen7. Amain has these available in the "PRO" edition for $280! Any way you look at it, it's a good time to be in the crawler game!

So when is a kit available? Looks interesting enough, and I don't have a short wheelbase rig yet...

I saw an unboxing done by GCM, hopefully that means they are running it. We some might see some cool pieces from them if they are digging it.

Last night I went into my local hobby shop to see whether my RC4WD 1.55 Stamped Steel wheels and my Axial 1.9 8 holes would at least clear the steering knuckles on the Coyote. I was happy to see that both fit. I did not take any pictures nor did I actually drive it so no real confirmation, yet. Just wanted to at least start a dialogue on this matter.

It looked pretty cool with the rusted bolts on my 1.55s and dusty PitBull Growlers.

I picked one up. I've run it about 5 times. 1 run with stock tires, 3 runs with a weighted set of 4.3" (109mm)Proline TSLs and 1 time with the OG Pitbull Rockbeasts. Didn't like the motor temperatures with the weighted wheels and didn't like how jumpy it was, so I replaced the stock 35T with an Axial 55T. The stock tires didn't do too well in my primary crawling spot which is a mix of sand, semi-loose dirt, fist-sized rocks and a light covering of snow.

Good so far, but it's only been 2 weeks. I really like how smooth the beefy shocks are.

Another $299 RTR version of the SCA-1E with a Land Rover style body, called the Lynx Orv.

Nice!
Glad to see my thread still going haha

And there is some good content now! Its nice to see some in hand pics and hear how it drives from some rcc members.
I think this and the newly announced cross and even the hobao might be the underdog stars of 2018!?

Oh and just my opinion but first thing i see on the coyote it needs inner fenders.

Had the first real outing with my Coyote this weekend. Buddy had a crawl gathering at his place. Challenging terrain with rock climbs, wood platform climbs, and damp dirt. The kind of place where the hot setup on my SCX10 was 1.9 Hyrax. I ran the Coyote for a bit and even let my buddy's kid drive it. I switched back to the front-weighted Super Swampers since I wanted to keep the front end down for the climbs. I was really impressed with how well it did. Obviously didn't do as well as the SCX10 in the rock and wood piles, but held its own in the places where ground clearance wasn't as crucial.

The only thing I need to address next is the rear bumper. I haven't installed the included bumper yet since I was trying to settle on the best body height based upon my final tire decision. The stock, chrome bumper got hung up a few times on rope features.
