I thought you were looking for a stock body, which I have a spare unpainted one.

Hillbilly....thanks so much for collecting all of this information in one place. I just picked up a Barrage Doomsday and this forum has been very valuable.

I do want to say that it's very frustrating to see that the RGT rigs are so close and obtainable however their parts seem to be non-existent to us. Really grinds my gears that a simple CMS and 3 link solution are so close, but seemingly not available. I'd really like to get my hands on that leaf spring system from the RGT Jeep, but alas I can't find any parts for that either.

I have some CAD software, a CNC router, and a few 3D printing sources. I'm hoping I can contribute to the Barrage owners club in the near future as well.

Thanks

Has anyone purchased anything from www.redcatracing.toys ?

I'm not familiar with them, but their website says they have a total of 47 Everest 16 aluminum diffs in stock (680010).

https://www.redcat.toys/ProductDetai...80010&CartID=1

Just curious if anyone has any clues.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I just ordered 2. I'll let you know. Their inventory showed 47 prior to my order, and now it shows 45. That's a good sign.

Any news? Hopefully you received your parts in a timely manner.

Are the axle internals the same? Tranny? Will the older c-hubs and knuckles fit?

Thanks in advance!
Great looking pumpkins on the Bowler!

Does anyone have any suggestions for getting more suspension travel out of the front end? I bought the Gen2 today, but the front only has about 3/4" of vertical travel.

EDIT: Ended up removing the chassis brace that was directly above the servo, and remounted the batter sideways behind the shocks.

Yeah, that was the first mod I did to mine as well. Great trucks though, really getting into the upgrades on mine.

I bought a barrage around Christmas when I saw the price. Since my LHS doesn’t carry parts and usually refused to order I was going to sell it. Knowing there are variants and all the fixes here I’m now happily going to keep it.

Thanks hillbilly for making this topic.

Thank you for this. A Barrage definitely seems more attractive now.

Has anyone ever tried the Tamiya Sport Tuned type 380 29 turn motor in the Barrage? Or even a 380 sized sensored BL motor/ECS combo? I have been dorking around with mine lately and once my RC4WD 1.9 stamped steel wheels and Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs come in I am going to mess around with the motor a bit. I have also been toying around with the idea of an RC4WD 2 speed transmission (eBay copy) but not sure I would have enough room.

Does anyone have an easy way to get the steering servo up onto the frame?

Thanks guys, back to work on my Baja Rey.....

I'm interested in getting my servo up onto my frame rails as well, any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Synister_Intent, I designed a CMS mount for my Gen 2. Message me if you are interested.

I have absolutely loved my 1.55 Gen 2 since buying it this past fall. It's been a surprisingly good trail rig. But, one of the biggest downfalls, IMHO, is the steering. As I mentioned earlier, I developed a CMS mount so that I could compete in Class 1 with the Barrage. But, the steering angle was so shallow, I was constantly losing points for reverses. So, I set out to change that.

What I have developed is new C-hub that requires ZERO modification to the Barrage's axle case OR the stock locker. The C-hub was designed to work with an Axial AR44 (SCX10-2) steering knuckle and AR44 universal axles. The only modifications necessary to get this all to work is to reduce the overall diameter of the AR44's axle shaft to 4mm from 5mm. Doing so allows the use of the original 4x8x3 bearings installed in the Barrage axle case. This also allows for the AR44 universal to slide directly into the Barrage locker. No length needs to be removed from the AR44 universal nor anything else other than reducing overall diameter.

The C-hubs pictured were designed with a 15-degree caster angle to help with additional steering angle and be able to clear my Proline Sumo body without additional cutting.

C-hubs printed by Shapeways. Purchased the white material and shot them really quick with some flat black.

AR44 universals after material was removed. Axle shaft is now 4mm OD.

Axles sitting in stock 4x8x3 bearings and fitted in axle case. This is stock length of the Axial universals. Couldn't ask for a better fit.

Closeup of the gap between the two universals.

C-hubs are a bolt-on fit using all stock screws.

Installation of Axial SCX10-2 steering knuckle. Uses stock Axial screws to connect knuckle to new C-hub.

The AR44 steering knuckles clear the tiny 1.55 wheels perfectly. I used a slightly thinner 12mm hex to reduce the overall track width so I would still fit under Class 1 rules (less than 1/2 of tire sticking outside fender well).

This pic was during initial fitment and shows the difference in steering. The left side is stock and the right side is with the mod. Unbelievable difference.

This shows the overall increase in track with as a result of the conversion. It is very minimal, I feel, given the huge increase in steering. By adding 15-degrees of caster to the C-hub, it allows me to still get full steering without needing to modify my body any more.

All in all I'm elated in how this turned out. Makes the truck perform so much better. Now, I'm working on designing a new, lower mounted battery tray as well as hopefully a high clearance skid that will be flush with the bottom of the frame rail.

Do you know the dimensions of the Doomsday tires? I have a scale build i'm working on and can't find any info on them. I'm looking for height, width and wheel size.
Thanks.

I have two sets laying around. I'll get you some measurements. Would you be interested in a set?

Bugman72, that is great work on the driveshafts. I have steel centre diff locks and was wondering how to upgrade the rest of the axle internals. Love what you did.
