RCScrewz makes a set for the 1/12 Barrage. It looks like it was designed for the Gen 1, but it would still likely have most of what you need - if you don't mind stainless. Some of the smaller screws are still phillips, but the rest are hex. That's a plus. I'll probably end up buying one myself as I have a Barrage and a RGT Bowler now that are getting pretty ratty.

Oh wow all I saw from them was a bearing set.
Thanks for the link!
Mine actually is a v1 so thats perfect. Price is decent too. And no I dont mind stainless. Resists rust and I usually hit my chassis with flat black while I have them torn down anyway.

Now to chase down that set of chubs on shapeways for more steering...

Does anyone know the part # for the RGT chassis servo mount? I'm interested in tucking the servo up so it's not noticeable from the front.

Great question.
I know somebody posted the manual with all part numbers including leaf springs somewhere around here...

Search for rgt bowler.
Edit:
Part #68204

Good luck finding one without buying the bowler. I can't seem to locate just the part. Even using all my normal search words/terms and known other companies.

I've been looking at the bowler, and I like the new body with the molded plastic bits on it. Axles look cool too and longer wheelbase.

I bought a Bowler off eBay for like $169 shipped. The CMS brace has a place to mount a panhard bar, and so does the axle, but the vehicle comes with a four-link suspension without panhard up front. I was going to try to make a panhard bar but I haven't found rod ends that will fit the M2 hardware. Anyone find a source for them yet?

Stock barrage rod ends. Most like would have to buy and link set it get them. Or drill and tap to m3 if you can.

So I am debating installing a set of the Chinese Cnc axles. However not sure how to get around different shock width. I have an empty set of scx10 axles and measured with that since it’s what the Chinese are designed off.

I guess if I had a better way to mount shocks. It is kinda a flimsy mount anyways.

If anyone has an extra rear axle I am desperate for one.

Metal scx10 rear shock hoop work front and rear on the chassis after you drill a new mount hole. If you wanted to a brace between the shock hoops stiffen things up quite well.

Go back to page #26 post #505 and on from there. those axles have already been swapped in to this chassis.

For the sake of affordability would the stock plastic ones work? Any reason the front hoops won’t work?

Plastic ones work that's what I'm running.

If your using the stock location for the front the rear scx10 hoops are flat mounting against the top of the chassis just like the stock hoops.
The front sxc10 hoops are angled to follow the curve in the scx10 chassis. So if you move them to the curve in the barrage chassis they would work but then will the shock be long enough (if your still using stock shocks)

You can see where the back hole would be if moved back to the curve. The front shocks I'm using and longer then stock.

Awesome thanks man. Yeah the rpm ones are what I am looking at. So if you did use front ones. With longer shocks would you then have potential drivetrain issues? I am so debating messing with this rig or not. I love my 3d printed part upgrades and truly love this little rig. Honestly it has stood up against all the big crawlers many times with few broken parts. If the guts werent to expensive I would gladly fill the stock axial axles that I have with parts. I need to find someone that upgraded or something. I guess bearings, driveshafts and gears isnt much.

Just so I am sure you build is off the rgt which is the same as the barrage I am working with?
I think I have settled on the rpm shock hoops and the axles.

Yes, what was stock was a RGT rock cruiser.
Yes, the main parts you would be working with are the same between the barrage and RGT.

This is all great info and was instrumental in making my decision to go with the Barrage Gen2. I've made a number of small tweaks (mostly deletions) along with some important changes (servo), but one change seems to be elusive.....downsizing the pinion from the OE 22T to something smaller. I was able to get my hands on an Associated 21532 16T pinion but the can of the motor contacting the transmission prevents setting the mesh. I found a 18T 2.3mm pinion from Traxxas (7041) and will give that a try when it arrives.

Is the 380 from the first generation that much smaller of an OD than the 390?

Any chance there is a slightly larger spur gear out there that will fit? A 64T might be the limit but would also allow for a 15T or 16T pinion to fit.

Last question, and maybe backwards....Would it be worth downgrading the motor to a 380 to get lower gearing?

Without massaging the trans case with a dermal getting a small pinion to fit is difficult. A couple smaller is the best that can be done.

Sourcing a different spur gear has been hard too. There is a couple candidates that might work but really trial and error.

There are some nice 380 motors out there brood motors are great if he is still making them the losi mini crawler guys used them in the 1.9 crawler class when it was big.
