Well if you start with a $300 kit, add VP axles, links, wheels, better tires, etc you are at or over $900.

This truck appears to be mostly a hodge podge of Axial aftermarket parts. I really wanted to like this, but not for me. Sounds like they're releasing an unfinished truck since the said they're going to develop their own transmission for it in the future. Sorry, it's nothing new from what I see out of the gate. I do like the body.

Never a bad thing to have options BUT.......that is some high end pricing for what? In the video it looks like it is a mish mash of Axial\TRX4 parts, with some alloy axles, they said it has Incision gears\links\shocks and what not, but the wheels will be plastic, and the tyres will be a VP tyre I am sure they will sell, but any one says this is good value you need to stop drinking the VP Koolaid |

900 for a roller, electronics 400 or so, wheels tires 100 to 200, so 1500 to run. Not a great value in my book but I am sure VP fans have a boner over this. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

At that price, you think they would have gone the distance and used a proper actual licensed 1st gen Scout body. I mean VP has Currie licensed axles, KMC and Method wheels, Rigid LED lights, and a Atlas transfercase housing.

A chassis view: $900 is a big number but is probably fair. The axles and transmission are probably $600 alone, $200 more for wheels, shocks, and center shafts and you are at $800. I doubt you could finish off the truck from there using good stuff with only $100 (chassis, chassis braces, shock towers, links, bumpers, sliders, body, body mounts, and some other stuff). |

Holy fuk there is a bunch of cheap bitchy mf’s on here lol. Wah it’s $900. I’d gladly pay $900 for this vs $400 for a scx2/trx4/ascender kit that I’m going to invest an extra $1000 in anyways. I’m not sure what world you guys are living in but $900 isn’t exactly much in the new RC parts world. Being Canadian I have to pay $700 just get get a complete set of curries lol. Now I’m in now way saying I wouldn’t like it if it was less expensive. Obviously it’s nicer when things cost less. But quality costs. Cutting corners doesn’t(initially lol). So why even complain. You’re all adults(I’m assuming) you know how this world works. But hey, if complaining makes you feel better, I guess enjoy lol. |

$900 doesn't seem that bad. I'm probably $1000+ into my TRX-4's. The big question is - will coupons be accepted |

See guys! We’re not all “Please”, “Thank you”, and “Pardon me”. Now run along, and do the math where you add another 25-30% to the price tag, cause the $900 is in American dollars, and not Canadian. Last edited by Alexander_0_1; 05-20-2018 at 11:46 AM.

That Rx4 seems like overkill. I like that the lexan will be precut, I hope that becomes industry standard. |

I'm sure my post will get attacked and I'll get called a VP hater, but people don't realize I have tons of Incision and VP stuff. This is my honest take and I'm open for discussion. I don't hate the truck, but there's nothing innovative that makes me want one especially at $900. I don't see how people think $900 is fair. Axles - $500 (which is generous because VP's own portal axle set is $500 and these are NOT portals) Transmission - $100 (Just a hopped up, old school, 3-gear Axial trans) Shocks - $100 (The verdict is still out on the Incision shocks and if they are worth the price. As much of a fan as I am of Proline, their $100 shocks are not worth it.) Links - $50 Driveshafts - $50 Chassis set - $100 Body $50 (not even licensed) Bumpers - $100 set (Very cool looking, but these should have been plastic and the shock towers and wheels should be aluminum) That's $1,050 right there. Am I forgetting anything? But when you buy parts in a kit you get a large bundle discount. Build an Axial SCX10 II out of individually purchased parts from Axial and you'll see what I mean. So where's the bundle discount on this truck? Let's not forget the shock towers and wheels are plastic and the hardware is black oxide, which most people complain about, so you'll need aftermarket wheels, tires, and shock towers if they make them and a stainless hardware kit. So add $60, $100 and $30 there. The most inexcusable here is the shock towers. Why are they plastic? They surely can be machined. Let's not forget that they said they won't sell you replacement axle housings when you wear them out or break them you're SOL when you do. Apparently they are working on their own transmission for the truck, but it's not included. Odd. Cool truck, but nothing innovative. I'd bite at $700, but not at $900. VP didn't even display the truck with the stock wheels and tires. I'm interested in the body and tires. I'm hoping the tires are less than 4.75", a new tread pattern, and a good compound. |

Not a bad price for what you get, I thought for anyone coming out with a new scaler they would have a front motor mount for better weight distribution and more options for full interior. Nice axles and body though.
