Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! Last saturday, Asiatees unvailed the soon to be released BRX01 kit at "ATees 3na-in Manila Cup" held last November 3 & 4 here in the Philippines. Sir Bert Manansala of Kronik Squad posing with the new rig... http://vlozity.net/akumu/brx01/BRX01-Bert.jpg This is a complete kit package which includes the LC70 hardbody, the new chassis, axels, tranny, metal beadlock wheels with super soft compound tires. A Micro servo, all alloy links, braces and 70mm alloy dampers are all included in this kit. http://vlozity.net/akumu/brx01/BRX01-01.jpg http://vlozity.net/akumu/brx01/BRX01-02.jpg A built-in rear hinge allows the chassis to be easily accessible. http://vlozity.net/akumu/brx01/BRX01-03.jpg http://vlozity.net/akumu/brx01/BRX01-05.jpg Inside you will find a newly designed 2 speed transmission and transfercase. The new transmission allows the motor to be placed at a high or lower position. The internal spur gear (machined out of a carbon reinforced material) allows for 9T to 16T pinions to be fited in such a small case. The transfercase is designed to eliminated torque twist. http://vlozity.net/akumu/brx01/BRX01-04.jpg The new chassis is bent in the front for wider steering angles, it also allows you to bolt on functional leaf springs (front and rear) for a more scaled look. I am happy to share with you so information on the Micro servo powering the 2 speed tranny switch, it is included with the kit and is metal gear and waterproof! http://vlozity.net/akumu/brx01/BRX01-06.jpg The new tires are so grippy that it can climb hills more than 45º without breaking a sweat. The wheels are designed so they can be flipped to give you a deep dish look, it also accepts Vanquish style wheel hubs for more offset options but Boom Racing will be releasing its own more cost effective hubs soon. http://vlozity.net/akumu/brx01/BRX01-07.jpg We where all given the chance to drive the BRX01 and I am happy to report that it runs beyond our expectations... zero torque twist with a solid tranmission, turns more than 45º. Unlike other rigs from different manufactures that force you to pay for unusable plastic wheels, tires and other components. The BoomRacing BRX01 oob is a performer with solid quality parts. This kit will be released soon, SRP US$599.00 |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! Wow. Nice Chassis. I used those informations and pictures to creat a thread in the german forum. I hope that is ok! If not I will delete it. https://www.rockcrawler.de/thread/39...g/#post1088046 |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! @GrimmTheTourist, no problem "thumbsup" |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! I've always had a soft spot for the LC70 Toyota, it's a "work truck", not a mall crawler! Too cool, seeing the Holmes Hobbies motor paired with the HW 1080 ESC in there. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the stock front bumper, with the little spoiler underneath - but that's what mods are for! |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! I've always wnated to pick up a LC70 hard body. |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! I like it! Excited for some budget SLW hubs as well |

Oh, yeah... that Holmes motor and the 1080, seen a lot of our old timers use that combo... those rigs win a lot in the trails we hit Quote:

Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! Very cool there will soon be another chassis option for scale builds. "thumbsup" Narrow axles, forward mounted motor, low profile rear suspension, hinged body, and the wheels and tires are all very cool. I don't understand the commitment to push counter-rotating driveshafts as a performance feature. It's effect to reduce torque twist is really limited to flat ground and any benefit completely goes away with the weight of the vehicle being transferred to one end or the other. This is from a guy that has run a truck with counter rotating shafts for years. Hopefully there will be a single speed conversion for the transmission because 2 speeds in a truly scale truck are not adding to the experience. Unless the ratios are low (40-50:1) and super low (70-80:1), I have no desire for more than 1 gear. Also, is that behind the axle steering setup running under the links and driveshafts? Seems like it would get caught on everything with that setup. I'll be on the lookout for more info and pics. |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! Very nice, but I think $600 is $100 high. I mean you also have to pay another $100 or so for shipping on most Boom vehicles since nobody that I know of in the US stocks them. If the price was closer to a TF2 or D90 I'd be more interested. Boom makes great stuff on par or better than a lot of other companies. I hope people start recognizing that. |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! It looks to be a simple chassis with a nice body. If you look at how many parts are actually bolted to the chassis compared to the TF2 then it does seem to be expensive. |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! When's it hitting the market? Will it work with TF2 leafs? |

Should be out first of the year. And Leaf will fit either over or under the axles. |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! Price does seem a little steep, but that is the suggested price so I'd expect lower. Would make a good class 1 rig though and good competition for the trail finder. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! no full interior and inner fenders are deal breakers for me |

personally, i think this truck is worth every penny... performance wise, there is nothing to change to make it perform well and/or add strength to the chassis. |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! Oops, my bad ! Still learning all these crawlers and names... My bad guys ! |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! Not sure if this is a public post on FB, but it shows Jason explaining features of the BRX01... https://www.facebook.com/anaknya.hjs..._comment_reply |
Re: Boom Racing - BRX01 - coming soon! Features from vid: 1. Can switch motor mount between "high" and "low" mount, low mount for LCG and high mount for clearance + allows servo on axle mount. 2. Behind-the-axle mounted tie rod for front clearance and 45° steering, but can switch to front in order to get 50° of steering 3. Leaf channels for front or rear leaf springs 4. All machined gears 4. Counter rotation transfer case |
