That's important. It seems like 1.9 is where it's at these days.

I built a 1.9 wraith back in the day. it was my favorite rig. But it had its issues. It looks like this new rig fixed most of them.

New smaller skid, CMS, got rig of awful wraith front bumper, AR44 axles, etc.

I destroy lexan bodies with my driving style. Doesn't sound like a gallon milk jug being sat on when you roll it over. Like a lexan body without a cage underneath does.

Its easier to paint, or replace panels. Compared to lexan body.
No silly windows to get scratched up or fogged up, like a normal lexan body.

No body to remove to change batteries.

As i'm writing this, I realized I must hate lexan bodies.

Wraith looks with the axle/wheel setup that I prefer. I like 1.9.

More scale than the 2.2 version.

I just ordered a trx4 kit.....debating on returning it to buy this.

You can always count on good, old Tower Hobbies to post an Axial vehicle before the official release.

i like it a lot actually.....but im gonna be that guy. IMO a tube buggy like this needs the performance factor of soa steering and triangulated 4-link front.
my thought process is always: if i were to build this in real life would i want a typical steering box setup (cms) or fully hydro (soa) setup

luckily it looks like that is a possibility. i may pick one up if they release a kit.

Nice!

Not much to dislike there, IMO.

The next great SORRCA debate: Is this considered a full length chassis for C2?

It seems to me that those are 2 continuous rails that run the entire length of the truck and possibly extend past the wheelbase by 3 inches while the upper cage and body can easily be removed with a few screws.

I don't care either way but the inevitable drama is always great entertainment.

There would be no debate, since it is still a tube chassis vehicle. But I like it and do see potential aftermarket parts to adapt to C2 class rules. Or just buy one and enjoy it. Not everything has to be rules friendly out of the box, what fun would that be without a challenge. I'm sure I'll be picking one up.

• You must run a rail chassis in Class 1 & Class 2. Class 3 can run a tube chassis but it must follow all C3
chassis specs.

Well it was possible with the previous Wraith cage but I wonder if TSS would take another shot at it.

By "debated", I meant committee members will be frequently and loudly accosted by the great inhabitants of Facebook land over this simple rule.

What if I paint it brass?

This is true!

Paint it what ever color you want, brass, titty pink, it's your choice.

So, the specs on Tower say that this has a 308 mm wheelbase. Since the Deadbolt's wheelbase is 305 mm this is just a little bigger than that. So, it's about the same wheelbase and width as a SCX10 ii. Do you think they'll just drop the SCX10 line and move this forward as the next generation of their bread-and-butter trail truck?

Highly doubt that, they will want to keep a metal rail chassis.

IT's not a Jeep! Bronco's FTW!

YAY!

I highly doubt the Scx10II is going anywhere for a while. It is the iconic Axial rig.

I can't wait to see it in the flesh. It might be a good replacement for the O.G. SCX10 that I have with a 305mm wheelbase for which I was contemplating an axle upgrade.

Now I just need someone like Axial or even Vaterra to build an update of the Twin Hammers - IFS and that 295 mm wheelbase. I have a Tekin 17.5 and RS that are waiting for a new home.

I wonder how the Wraith 1.9 would look sitting on some O.G. Rockbeasts?

After seeing the videos, I am now more excited to pick one of these up. I think Axial did a great job on it.

Thanks for sharing the videos guys!

So we have a top heavy rig, plastic chassis, 10ii guts, and a proprietary body. I bet the plastic shocks leak too. I'll pass.
Horizon give us a new 10iii with od/ud low cg trans, low cg chassis and shocks that are worth a damn please.

I know nothing about a tube chassis, and im guessing all the brace supports it has, will hold it together, i just see the chassis breaking in half. Of course they did all the testings but still, just looks cheap/flimsy.

Maybe now RPM can make a chassis out of their plastics.

I'm curious as to what parts of this new chassis may be compatible or share molds with the old Wraith chassis. The shock mounts look similar but for some reason nobody wanted to take the body off to show us the tubes underneath .
