LOL!! I have a few things to throw at it after I run a pack to see what direction I will go with this truck.

I got to try one of these this weekend and was impressed. It was mostly stock save for the servo and wheels, but this truck was crawling great. Definitletly a good one for the kiddos or a loaner because it will keep up with my modded scalers pretty well. James, we had that same moment of weakness I don’t think there will be any regerts though. Went with orange. Truck pictured is Rocco’s from RC Bombshells |

I saw pics from this weekend and wondered who that belonged to. Looks great with the green wheels. I was tempted to go with the black one since I have a set of green DravTech shocks sitting here, but orange is my color so had to go that route.

FedEx dropped mine off today. Initial impressions: The body looks even better in person. The molded grille and headlights are nicer than expected. The faux motor/electronic box is also nicer than expected. Some tail lights (that don't look like they were carved from a cough drop ) would make it even better. The roof has a canvas like texture, which I had not noticed in pictures. It has a good forward weight bias. The links feel like they will hold up better than the old original SCX 10 links, but no doubt Axial's crappy rod ends will get sloppy in a hurry. I do not plan on replacing them until that happens, except for the panhard bar...It hits the diff cover and prevents a good bit of travel so it has to go. I think I have a high clearance LURC panhard bar sitting around so I'll put that on when I get home tonight. I installed a set of universals and SSD aluminum knuckles just because I had them laying around. I also installed some Hyraxes. They made it look much better. The Nittos are pretty good but too skinny for my liking. |

I got mine today, had to shim both axles before it would roll freely but thankfully the transmission was okay. I couldn’t figure out how to easily get the body and cage off so soldering a new plug on the esc was fun. First impressions were good though. This will do well for the kiddo. It gets around well, the body stays out of the way, and it’s slow enough that whomever is driving shouldn’t be able to do much damage. Staying stock till something breaks. |

Hopefully they release the parts so that I can do a conversion on a 2.2 soon. Really like the way it looks.

I wouldn’t mind the narrow skid with boatsides but still run the ar60s.

So do they have the same crummy link geometry that the 2.2 did?

Found a side shot. It doesn't look horrible. Always room for improvement though, if there is actually room for improvement. Somebody buy me one so I can do some R&D. |

Ok I got mine and I took it out once! A couple weeks ago, I put out an optimistic overview, happy to see something finally 'new' from Axial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Vlmgs4ZGqg Right now, my 1.9 Wraith and I are not getting along. I'll spend some time this afternoon running it on my two test courses. Some comments - so happy to see something new from Axial with the new ownership - $369 is a lot for what they're offering, especially with what's available out there today. - Are they just capitalizing on the Wraith brand/legacy? It's more Honcho SCX10.2 hybrid. - my radio has a range of about 5 feet. - the steering wheel on the transmitter is huge and enhanced with plastic ridges - All 4 tires wobble like hula hoops - steering angle is no good - dogbones, plastic links and plastic shocks - highlight seems to be the receiver box and the opening hood - have to use a full size battery??? - what/why this new connector - slower than slow for what looks like a powerful macheeen - performs like a Deadbolt II. With no scale body/bumper/overhang, I would hope it can do more. I'll test today Comments? I hope it is not taboo to discuss performance or anything pro/con about the vehicle. I'm loving my SCX10 II Chevy Blazer right now. And I'm trying to buy/try anything that looks compelling and innovative. I should learn more today but help steer me in the right direction. fc @RC Review |

I already gave up on leaving it stockish Got a Mamba Micro X, a BEC, a spare Futaba RX, and a Savox 2290 sitting here collecting dust so I ended up ordering a 2700kv stubby puller pro to finish it off. No sense in plastic steering crap with nearly 700oz in of servo, so titanium steering links are also on the way but that should be it for now. What voltage does the AE-5L put out for the LEDs?? |
