That sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I think you took that wrong. I don't think in any way he was inferring axial took short cuts, I think he's explaining why its not releasing products that require lots of R&D and innovation on the mechanical side. Engineering for a new body and wheelbase change is much simpler than engineering completely different axle design into the mix.

At least that's how I took mattK's comments

Portals used to be hated on this site, among others, but now they're all the rage. It is kinda odd. This rig, more than any other, should have come with portals. I guess that's one of the reasons it's a UMG not a Unimog.

Who is going to be the first to put portals on this truck? Deadloc Racing is releasing a V2 portal kit.

Well call me silly but I remember the GMade portals before Traxxas or Vanquish had them. I don’t remember any from Axial, but might be an interesting upgrade along with a deep geared transfer case, the body is different enough to get people thinking about Axial again.

I'll consider the body and bed kit, but theres just too much wrong with the rest of the truck...

Tires are too small should be 2.2 or bigger, also the axles are located wrong with the 4 link no panhard bar

Oh an the the portals are missing WTF

LOL

hey soze when you get this thing out of the box (no rush I know about that dad lyfe lol) can you give me measurements of the cage from the horizontal deck hoop to the top hoop, and overall width?
Trying to see if this cage might work for my son's Chevy build. Thanks!

Looking forward to seeing you tackle this one on YouTube!

I'll try to get it up soon. I was planning to do a Tamiya build next. I guess that went out the door!

Very cool new truck, but wth happened to the headlights? Square-ish Darth Vader like, generic round would look great!

So true! The entire cab looks like a Darth Vader helmet! Maybe that's why the driver looks like a WW II soldier. Any Stormtroopers-build ahead?

Another new thing from Axial, possibly?

It looks like the headlights from the Smokey and the Bandit Firebird if you ask me. But when you look closer it looks like two trucks side by side.

Considering Axial's teases have been the lamest of them all I do not have high hopes. Or maybe it's not a teaser at all, but SBG seemed to indicate it is.

Too widely spaced for that, if it's at all scale accurate lol.
