It's a kit version.

About the only thing new & different other than the body is the body mount system & lack of visible body clips.

I'm honestly surprised the SCXII kit transmission lived to see use in another release.

Edit:

Full details in English.

It's better that it's a kit, but it's still a Deadbolt with the old transmission. At least it gets metal links. It appears it has dog bones though since it doesn't mention universals. They headed this in the right direction, but I thought we were past generic bodies unless it's a budget model. I'd still go for the Cherokee kit if I was relegating myself to Axial.

I like the cage part of this truck. With unimog front (hello knight customs) it could look pretty cool

It has universals and machined axle gears with separate lockers according to the manual.

Interesting that isn't mentioned on the Horizon page. With universals included this Chunimog becomes a much better alternative to the Cherokee. The Chunimog is cheaper, but it has the one-piece axles so you have to pick your poison - lower cost or 3-piece axles. I didn't notice any other differences from the Cherokee.

Check the manual, there is universals. This is quite nice kit, only the grill is awful but I believe that there will be 3d offering quite soon 😁

New beadlocks
New Tires
Another shorter wheelbase option (11.4")
Unimog body and cage
New interior and driver figure.

It's a kit too!
Don't be angry at Axial for not putting portals under a specific body. Be mad a Traxxas or Redcat for not putting that body on there portal based rigs!

Lots to like. Way too much negativity.

Did you miss my comment right above yours in regards to the universal?

We shouldn't need a 3D printed grille. Axial shouldn't have taken the cheap way out.

Seriously, how many more iterations of the SCX10 II platform, which is now and old chassid, do we need? Can we all agree that this is the absolute last SCX10 II we need and that their next SCX10 release should be all new?

Yes I saw your comment. You wrote also "Interesting that isn't mentioned on the Horizon page.".

So I thought that you were not sure whether there is universals or not and commented this part, maybe I should edit my quotation...

This is eight iteration if raw builder is included. Trx4 is newer and it has already 6? iterations. How many new traxxas we need? If you don't like, don't buy it. For me this might be the first Scx102 that I will buy, I really like the look of this thing.

SCX10II - 3 kit versions, 5 RTRs over ~ 3 years

TRX4 - 2 kit versions, 6 RTRs over ~ 2 years

Who really needs to cool it with too many versions of the same truck?

Oh no. I believe the manual. But universals are a great feature and a fairly expensive option so I'm just surprised they don't list that in the specs. I'm sure it will get added when the truck is put on Axial's page.

The TRX-4 is a new and very high quality truck that has bodies from 3 different brands along with two very different kits. It isn't the old, low quality chassis that is the SCX10 II. All of the Axial releases are very similar except the body. Most of Axial's changes, outside of the body, have been for the worse and seem to be cost cutting measures like one-piece axles. If this was ANY other brand besides Axial people wouldn't be defending it...

Don't get me wrong. I think this is a decent release with everything that is included, but it's time for Axial to wow us again.
