Engine or Motor? lol I was just saying last week that surely we can do this now and make scaled down versions of real engines. Pretty interesting however impractical it may be. link to their site TOYAN Engine - Home I wonder what the engine speed is? It looks like they've had to gear it down and down and... Radiator fan to do what? is it actually air cooled maybe? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMPg-5mjXR4 It still sounds like a lawn mower or maybe a leaf blower, thats a bit of a let down. This is more what I would have in mind sound wise https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1xGVtMMF14 Last edited by HumboldtEF; 04-19-2019 at 04:39 PM. |

Ya, cool but not good in a crawler and don't want to hear any noise besides nature when I"m out crawling. |

I saw in the comments section 7800rmb which is about $1150-$1200usd... but I don't know which engine that was? Their website does not have a lot of info. One of my buddies sent me a link to that this morning, to which I responded: meh... Conley Stinger 609 Engine |

The Conley has been around a long time, but I think they are 1/6.

A neat idea, some good design and manufacturing to make that work. But there's no way anyone running one those noise makers would be welcome in our local group. Can you imagine having to listen to that thing for 4-5 hours non-stop. My ears are bleeding just thinking about it.. And I'd think cooling would be an issue in crawling - no significant air flow happening.. Can't remember the name but there was a company about 10yrs ago that tried making Nitro crawlers - they were a dismal failure because the sound of them is just obnoxious. But like I said though, impressive quality of design and manufacturing to make that little bugger. |

On the flip side, there's no way it would sound any more obnoxious than my Revolver!
