Argh 😤 Bugger, it’s the MN45 body I want, that chopped body for the flat bed. Do either have interiors?

You can take the back/top off of the WPL body if you want to run it like a willy's Jeep (I think I spelled that right). The windshield also folds down too like a Jeep. The MN45 has awkward battery placement at the backity back of the bed so it has pretty crappy suspension handling. Plus the WPL shocks are far better with the bouncy problem. The C34 I think has 3 link suspension. Overall I recommend the C34 over the MN45. My favorite is still the C24 though. Oh, and yes they both have interiors.

Hi,
new information about the WPL C34 Metal edition, pictures:

Seems to be quite a good deal, pay 50 bucks extra (to the price of the WPL C34 Plastic Edition Kit) and get upgrade parts for about 100 bucks.

Since there are some special upgrades, which are not available yet, I used similar upgrades using this list of (nearly) all WPL, MN, JJRC upgrade parts available:

https://www.rockcrawler.de/thread/40...c-mz-fayee-mn/

You get metal axle housing, metal links, metal drive shafts, metal gears and wheel-holders, metal knuckles, wheel weights (who likes those? Those are extremely expensive - e.g. those - and I hated this type of wheel weights in my Orlandoos, they make the tires extremely hard), 370 gearmotor and a large plastic gear servo.
Tires seem to be new, anyway. Announced to be "very soft", curious, if those will be different to the tires coming with the plastic kit.

Very interesting:
New central transmission? Seems to be made out of plastic, but for 370 gearmotor direct bolt on, and with improved ground clearance:

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/atta...entid=12043557

And even more interesting, real metal universal joints:

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/atta...entid=12043555

The WPL Landcruisers are announced to arrive tomorrow, May 9th. We will see, waited about a months longer than announced for my MN-45 Toyota Landcruiser kit, which finally has been shipped the day before yesterday.

The metal joints have been out but only available with the full upgrade kits. Someone from another WPL thread found some for sale individually on eBay. I have yet to buy a set for my C14, but I might soon

Hello!

Take care - those seem not to be the "universal joints", those seem to be those joints type "Kardan joints".

This is a faulty construction. I bought a set from Banggood. It does not work, cannot work - see here (see only pics - it is in German):

https://www.rockcrawler.de/thread/40...37#post1162537

I bought this set from Banggood and wrote a complaint because it cannot work. Banggood refunded 80% of the price.
But of course they do not publish my review ;) - those kind of "Kardan-joint-steerings" do not have any review yet - this says a lot. It cannot work!

Compare:
"Faulty type":

https://www.rockcrawler.de/wcf/attac...-kardan-1-jpg/

"New type" (in C34): Not full Kardan.

Looks like the hex is separated from the joint and the axle flat spot isn't filed down all the way. Is that right? It doesn't look too hard to fix, You could super glue the hex and file down the axle. I see what you mean with the new joints. They seem to be one piece as the ones you have, the yolk is separated from the hex.

Hi,
no - you did not read the forum link ;)
Try again - at least take a look at the pictures:
https://www.rockcrawler.de/thread/40...37#post1162537

It is too wide - it does not fit on WPL axles.

Anyway, those are two different kind of "universal links".
Those you can buy are a hex part and a two-part Kardan joint - I bought those. Those are a faulty construction, do not work cannot work…

The universal joints of the C34 are totally different type - it is one peace.

Check the pictures again.

I DO have the type you can buy, and Banggood even refunded - do not know, why this type still is offered everywhere.

This is not a problem. There is still a piece of metal you can lift and then the spot (in Center) is flat.
No problem - and easy to make custom shafts (I did already for MN-90 because its axle is wider).

Problem: Knuckles cannot be clipped onto C-hub anymore… because the "universal joint" (with Kardan) is too wide.

Re: New Toyota Landcruiser Kit WPL C34

Well,
seems some customers are preferred and get their goods earlier than "normal people" ;)

Cause there have shown up quite a couple of Youtube videos in the past days about the WPL Landcruiser:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PA9...&index=26&t=0s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M35a...&index=31&t=0s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz8H...&index=32&t=0s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD7c...&index=33&t=0s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQFt...&index=34&t=0s

And also a Mini-Review, very detailed, on RCGroups:

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...Crawler-review

Curious, when we "normal people" will get our kits, and much more curious for the reviews of "normal people", because always little cautious with those "sponsored reviews".
However, the review of James Chen is very interesting and seems to be unbiased.

.. and your big-bucks 1/10 isn’t?

C’mon, get real. We’ve already established you hate those little cars. That they’re ‘beneath yo’, so to say. Shame that many people like them, hrm?

Just accept that these little cars have great bodies, and hardware that invites loverly tinkering.

Not every big-boys toy has to be a $1000.- + piece of hardware to be fun.

I’m getting kinda sick and tired of the attitude of sňme people here, overtly showing their disdain for these little cars. Yes. It’s a toy. Like every RC is a toy. But these toys are seriously affordable, even with all upgrades, and not everybody has the funds to buy big-bucks RC4wd and Vanquish stuff.

‘Nuff said”

Bye now!

Probably not. I gather it will be the exact same as the other WPL kits. They work fine, though. They’re not the weakest part of the WPL’s by far. That would be the pinions in the pumpkins. They strip as soon as one puts more than the stock 6v through the 180 kit motor.

(It seems that newer releases already come with brass innards for the pumpkins.)

Lately they have been coming with brass pinion and plastic ring gears. So it will last a couple of weeks of fun.
