Backpack suggestions Hello all Does anyone Know of a great backpack that has plenty of room for a 1/10 scale crawler, radio, batteries, tools, and a water bottle ? I would prefer a roller/backpack/ in case there is solid flat ground...like at a park. I have seen a few that you cram the rig in. Also duffle bags. I have seen $250 ones. Need one compartment to have at least 10”x10”x20”. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. |
Backpack suggestions Look at places like OpticsPlanet for a milspec/milsurp/tacticool style pack. They should list all dimensions and everything. |

Re: Backpack suggestions Buy a harbor freight or comparable pelican like case. Attach backpack straps, done. Otherwise i suggest a hardcase backpack, similar to what motorcyclists usually run. |

Now, a tactical pack (which I also have), as suggested by Brake Weight, would work quote well, depending on the capacity. A '24hr' pack might be too small, but a '48hr' pack should work. A '72hr' pack would be enough to carry everything he wants, and then some. One of the great things about tac-bags are the MOLLE straps, which allow to to externally attach other things, including other smaller bags. ~ More peace, love, laughter, & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |

Re: Backpack suggestions I use this L.L. Bean backpack, you can usually find them in stores for less than $100 on clearance. I strap the front axle to the top clips and then use the hip straps to hold the rear axle or body of my rigs. Big plus for me was the ability to use a camelback type water container in the laptop compartment to keep my back cool on hot days. https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/1229...0=Khaki&pos=17 |
Backpack suggestions Got a buddy that would (pre election infection) pull the wine bags out of the box and put those in place of his Camel bag for outdoor events and festivals. In case anyone likes a good day drunk in public. ••••••Not recommended on back country hiking trails•••••• |
Re: Backpack suggestions I got a huge ArcEnCiel backpack from Amazon - mine is 23.6" tall x 13.8" wide x 10.6" deep, will carry a Bomber on the inside and has enough outside straps (it's a black tactical style version) to attach my Ascender - although that gets heavy, especially with a bunch of LiPos and a couple transmitters, and some tools and a couple water bottles! Similar model (I bought mine a couple years ago) - this one's even bigger: https://www.amazon.com/ArcEnCiel-Cap...195529&sr=8-16 |
Backpack suggestions @durok That’s a good looking backpack. |
Re: Backpack suggestions Thanks, man - they also have a similarly-sized backpack that is also a duffel bag: https://www.amazon.com/ArcEnCiel-Tac...fitness&sr=1-1 |
Re: Backpack suggestions This is my airplane backpack. Most airlines can’t refuse a personal bag (thanks women that sued for a purse) and this is mine. I removed the belt piece to make it easier to stuff in overheads or under seats. Carried it for years back and forth to work. It doesn’t have the depth front/back for a crawler but could easily fit a SCT or anything with a lower profile. Fits easily under the seat of the smaller Embraer 145 regional jets. It’s definitely wider though. So if you have a narrow chest size in coats your shoulders may not be wide enough. https://www.opticsplanet.com/fox-out...tion-pack.html I ordered one of these to start using as the prior was 4 years old and I wanted to try something new but I never got the chance to use it. I got laid off from that gig while it was getting shipped. Still have it in my closet somewhere with the tags still on it. https://www.opticsplanet.com/fox-out...ield-pack.html |
