Working on a 2 post lift. It’s not modeled after any production unit, kind of making it up as I go using logic/scraps. The arms articulate but the height is fixed. So I will be able to set the truck in it for static display, but I will probably figure out a stealthy support for under the trucks (faux transmission jack?) because they are really heavy, especially the Enduro. But it’s pretty stout. Once I get it all figured out it will be sanded/primed/painted, thinking blue for the frame and yellow arms. The garage needs pop of color. It will be lightly weathered but not as much as the surroundings, kind of like it was added much later.

This is really impressive and from the pictures it looks like something you’d see in a museum display. In some cases better than many of the displays I have seen. I agree that it is the details that make this impressive and immersive. My favorite part was the comment you made about the pulley bothering you that it didn’t function and then having it modified to work. Great work.

Still figuring out the ‘fully functional’ part but I will get there eventually. It’s a tight fit for the Deadbolt. I pulled the extended hex off, tired of them coming loose. I don’t think it would fit with them installed. Enduro fits well but that’s the rig I designed it for.

I nerded out and greased the tracks on the side...squirted 'hydraulic oil' around all of the fittings...still need to work out switches and power. For now I'm going with 'the pump is installed outside' but may build one at some point, real estate is getting pretty valuable in this little garage.

Still at zero dollars. The lift is scrap lumber (posts), aluminum (arms), wood trim (frame), leather string (hydraulic lines), washers (feet), styrene tube (hydraulic fittings), craft store paint (body) and Createx opaque yellow/transparent orange, brown/opaque black.

Wife thinks I'm completely nuts until I showed her how much the fancy ones on AMain cost. Yes, they look more modern/realistic but this one works for this shop.

Next up I think is a couple of floor jacks. Would like to find some thin orange or yellow wire to build a bunch of extension cords. Already thinking about making a bigger/realer looking compressor that has a motor on top/belt driven etc. industrial sized...

Pretty much limitless what you can make for a garage. I haven’t even thought about tools yet lol

Saturday morning project. The boys snagged this 1970s IR shop compressor for next to nothing, re-wired it, fired right up. Belt driven unit puts out way more cfm than the old unit.

That’s my story haha. It’s a Costco pill bottle, plastic bits, valve stem caps, coat hangers, wood, paracord...
