Default Axle Selection

I’m piecing together a ground up build and I’m ready to pick up some axles. I prefer a non-portal offset diff front axle. The AR45 conversion kit would work beautifully, but I want to make sure I cover all of my bases before pulling the trigger.

Are there any other axles out there that meet the criteria at a similar price point?

Not at that price point. GCM and SSD make offset front axles, but not as cheap as Axial.

Parts availability is also an issue from most manufacturers. So I would just pull the trigger on whatever will work for you and is in-stock.

Have you looked at SSD's options? I've been very happy with the axles in my trail king. Unmatched steering angle and compatible with ar44 ring and pinions.

I would spend the extra money on the ssd housings. Not only do they look way better, but it's fun to get all the parts and build them exactly the way that you want them. I just built their diamond offset front axle and really liked it, but sold it because I got some vanquish d44's.

If you wanna spend more like $400 on axles, there's a few sets of vanquish axles for sale on Facebook.

I really like the SSD axles too. It looks like you can order most the parts for the offset front axles from RPP ATM. $200ish for the front and rear axles, not including bearings.

Thanks guys. I checked out SSD's offering and it's legit for sure. I just don't think the added expense of piecing the axles together is worth the benefit for me. Right now I'd just like to buy something complete.

If I already had a pair of 44's I could steal parts from or something that may be a different story, but I don't think I can match the value of the 45 conversion kit with parts I have on hand. I need shocks too, so I may as well kill two birds.

I'll go ahead and move forward with the AR45's. Thanks again!
