Do you think we can get a company to do this? Hey guys, I'm not sure if this has come up or not, but I was thinking. Do you think that we can find a company to make a mold of the bruiser body, and than produce us lexan replica's? Sure it would be no hard body, but don't you think a lexan body would be great? Especially considering that it will be somewhat cheaper than the price bruiser bodies are going for nowadays. Any comments/suggestions/calling me an idiot welcome. |
im gonna say no, if it hasnt happened yet i doubt it. theres been alot of talk about people doing it but so far its just that, talk. |
Thats kinda what I figured, Im sure that people will have licensing issues, but I figured Id bring it up. Im sure we might be able to talk proline into some sort of toyota looking pickup |
Ive herd of people vaccum forming thier own bodies . |
Rockwerks is working on it. |
I wonder if anyone will make a YJ with a Molded in Hardtop? One that looks like a Short Wheel base Wrangler. Unlike the HPI Ruby Body. It's just looks like an Unlimited.. |
Its been talked about for YEARS... myself being the huge Bruiser fan I am stopped holding my breath years ago....otherwise I would have got dead  |
Its happening, by a few vendors here "thumbsup" Its just a long process sadly |
Too bad the guy making the XJ body from Germany wouldn't make one. Can you imagine one as nice as that XJ he makes :shock: |
lexan liberty lexan yj ? ? ? i'm lisitening |
who isn't bro |
Making the molds and forming bodies is a long frustrating process. I lost an original Proline CJ8 body cuz it was used to make the mold for the repops Unimoger sold. The mold ruined my body and it turned out to be a losing battle. That's why we don't have any more CJ8 repops. Good luck to Rockwerks though, I hope he gets it. |
its best to make one out of wood. thats what i do in school. |
A lightweight wood body hand carved would be the craziest thing ever! id pay for that. maybe make a body out of thin sheet metal so that you can get realistic body damage:D |

The biggest obstacle is liscensing. If someone makes on I can guarantee Toyota will go after you for fees. We are not talking small fees we are talking hundreds of thousands of dollars. This is the reason many popular bodies have been discontinued. It's sad really. If the major automotive companies eased up some, they would be getting a bunch of advertising for next to nothing. I just don't get it, since these things would not be competeing with them in any way, and could even generate some revenue for them as apposed to none due to the redicules fees. |

there are ways around lisencing issues, bodies over 17 years old, a little more generic version, name changes etc. take a bruiser for example. it would be impossible to vac form an exact copy. Just aint gonna happen, the body is undercut, too much detail around the windows, grill etc. The older yota like truck we will produce will be similar to the late 70's truck the bodies that are close J10 style bruiser style cropped cj8 style |
