| GMC CrewCab Xmod 4x4 Truck (pics and vid:2/28/08)
I had mentioned before fo making a SSMT project so here are my plans . I changed my mind about the Bronco and i'll be doing a replica of a Chevy Double Cab 1/10 RC that I saw over in the RCC forum. I will make a GMC version of it but with the same paint scheme and all the accessories to go along with it too. Here's the Chevy that i'll be using as a picture guide: And here's a editted pictured to show more or less what i'll be doing to make the model look like that one: (note that this is just an edit pic of my last unpainted GMC xmod truck) I'll probably get started on this one pretty soon ( like this coming week) - I've all the parts needed and the models so i'll updated this thread as soon as I get the ball rolling! Oh yeah, pics credit to the rc owner: obijuan Last edited by Xmodification; 02-28-2008 at 10:15 AM. |

What secret fall guy compartment are you talking about btw? if it has anything to do with those lines on the bed panels - those will be covered up and smoothed out for a clean surface look.

yeah those gay *** lines. that GMC kit is a rehash of the old fall guy kit. also this is gonna have straight axles right? being an ssmt and all, why no x mod on this one?

| yeah it will be a staight axle type of thing - i'll be using a servo to power the tranny also. This project will be too long to fit onto an xmod chasis and with the SSMT i can make it pretty much as long as it needed. I will also be able to make add more interior details to this one than with the Xmods'. One thing that I will also have to work on is some custom lights for it, the mini-z board that i'll use doesn't have connector for LED kit but they do sell something separate for lights ( I'll have to look into it becasue I do want it to have lights). Anyways, I'll get a few pics tomarrow of the stuff that's going into this project, so i'll keep you guys updated on it! |

| Well i'll use the swampers because are softer than the 1/24 buggers that I found online - the swampers will allow the truck to have better traction compared to the buggers that's more for looks than anything else. |

Thanks for the comments guys! Here's a couple pics of the materials and other stuff that I have ready to use to make this SSMT project: Here's mostly the Electronics, batteries & cases , servos, and a few wire connectors: Here's the Wheels, axles (front and back), tranny, bag of gears, and a bag of stuff for supension and linkage axle arms: Here's mostly diamond studded styrene sheets, alluminum tubes and sheets that i'll use for the axle shafts and other stuff: And here are the 2 '84 GMC truck models that i'll be using to make the Crew Cab: More updates to come soon. |

The SSMT axles are a much better platform to work off of. Too bad they're so damned hard to find nowadays. go to it X - if this build is as well done as the others I've seen you pull off it will be sweet. Keep the pics coming...

Sorry for not posting anything in here for awhile now. I've just recently had time to mess with this one so i'll post up some pics maybe by tomarrow of the progress. Ya'll know once I get started on something it will be finished sooner or later ( most likely sooner in this case since I have a few other stuff I need to do a.s.a.p.) |
