Default Is there any way to make an Xmod worth anything?

I've been separated from my X-factor build while I'm at college (probably for a year or so) and I'm craving at least SOME wheeling. I picked up an Xmod H2 along with the metal bearing mod and the stage 2 motor kit from Radioshack hoping to help me get a little wheeling action. I put it together with a stage 2 motor and the lowest gear set that came in the kit and the thing has no balls at all, it won't even climb up a box tilted up 25 degrees. Is there any motor and gear combination that can get something out of it? Maybe changing out the bearings will help? I don't have any tools or resources in the dorm room to do anything custom like installing a servo for a motor. I was waiting for the 4x4 kit to come in on thursday, but I'm starting to think this thing isn't even worth my time.

Thanks for any help.

If there's anything worth doing to it this guy will probably have it. I had an x-mod skyline a while back and got aluminum everything, motor and lipo from this site. I still have in my closet. But its to small to drive on anything but lenolium. Anyway hope this helps.

I wouldn't waste time on making an Xmod crawl. I would just wait until the "other" company releases their micro crawler and buy it.

I know, what makes it even worse is the fact that with as much as I have into it now, I could be halfway to a Wheely King I found in the classifieds.

Try www.xmodsforum.com I think it is, They have a way to put in a high torque servo into the place of the motor and that makes it crawl.

I'll check out that site after work.

I allready have the 4x4 kit coming in on thursday, if I can't get any torque out of it with the small tires on it, I'm giving up on it.

yo i bought some bearings from atomicmods and thee blue gears and carbonfiber drive shaft but the xmods just suck the "off road kit" is just for looks i had my truck all jacked up with tires and body, and then when all monster jam on it and two of the wheel hubs broke. when i went to my riends house in winchester we strapped a "few" fire crakers on it. lets jsut say it didnt last to long with like 20 on it. then we took my freidns g35 and LOADED it up. we but them in the battery compartment. we also but on under the hood and it blew the hood off. then we put one of those things that shooots fire and caught his body on fire. it melted a big hole in it. if he still has his i can get som pics. i also started on a custom suspension lift on the truck but couldnt figure out dogbones for it. after all that fun i sold them on ebay, my subaru and evo plus bodys and bearings which i put in car.

bottom line they will be fun for awhile then u get bored and everything breaks and u blow them up and burn them. there a fun truck for inside but thats about it.

Tell us everything you know!! I've been dreaming of a micro crawler that will accept 1/24 model bodies, so please spill the beans! Oh and like they said, don't waste your time, I did the same thing you did with a lift, 4x4 and big tires and it won't even run over a frikkin pencil!

I built a couple of xmod crawlers. Sold all of that stuff to finance a hobby grade build. If you ask me the electronics in them are junk and alloy parts prices are not that much different from 1/10 scale stuff.
