Default Stone Mt.???? Comp!!

You guys in Atlanta need to do a comp at Stone Mt. before Christmas! We never have much going on here in Ga for crawlers even though we have some killer spots all over the state? Let's get together and do a Holiday comp where each driver pays a entry fee and we donate the money to something like Toys for Tot's or to a childs cancer center! Let's show people that even guy's with toy trucks can have hearts! Who ever is in charge in Atlanta hit me up and let's do this! And who doesn't love to crawl anyways! Atlanta is pretty easy for anyone in the SC, GA, TN, AL area to get to without driving all day. Let's crawl for kids!!!

We have had a few gtg's at stone mountain already. Ryan is our leader and a fine one at that haha. I think it would be cool to actually do a comp there. I havent been in years

Got some news from JIA that Stone Mt. won't let people crawl there because of some kind off moss I'll try and contact Ryan and see what we can do

Really? Creepyrob, rccrawlerboy, and someone else went there like last weekend for a get together? It must be a different part that they crawl on

The toys for tots idea would work pretty cool if we brought a toy for a boy or girl. River Rock ORV used to have a ride every year where admission to the park was a decent unwrapped toy! ($20 value)

I like the idea.

I was at Stone Mtn. about a month ago for a gtg. We met and crawled over by the skylift parking lot. Nothing was said to us.

Hey Ryan, shoot me a PM and let's start working on this ASAP I'll start talking to the vendors and see what I can do. This will be great for the kids and for the crawling community.

Like I said over on RCA, I will gladly donate toys. Probably more than one, my familly does this every year. I dont know if I have a ride to stone mountain, thats a little far from where I live.

What does everyone think about having the comp on Dec. 20th?

This sounds like a good idea, bring a toy for your entry fee into the comp.

nope ive been there a lot and noone has said anything to me. there is always the option of more secluded areas in the park theres endless crawling out there but telling everyone where to go would be the problem. you could always have everyone thats going to show to meet up somewhere easy to find, and then drive to the location so noone gets lost of course like i said tho i havent had anyproblems.

good luck toall

Me and JIA will be making a trip up there soon, we will talk with them and make sure everything is on the up and up. I've been talking with Ryan and I think everything will be ok I would like for all that will be attending to let me know and what class you will be running. We are for sure doing 2.2, MRC, and 1.9 scale and "Maybe" 2.2 scale.....I need to talk it over with Ryan first. 4 classes might be to much......

I seem to remember reading somewhere else that they wanted to do a competition there and Stone Mtn. said no because they didn't want the vegitation harmed by the crawlers. You definately need to call first, you wouldn't want people to drive in and pay to get in and then have the park police shut you down.
But otherwise it would be a sweet competion. Stone Mtn. has some great errain.

The big moss issue was at Panola Mtn near Stone MtnLINK.

I never officially asked the Stn Mtn people. The area near the Skylift seems to wide open for recreation use. Comp wise the terrain it self at Stone Mtn is fair at best. Most of the interesting climbs are 30-50 yards apart.
On the other hand with the use of some small bridges, and my new "Bridge of Death" some new interesting lines could be opened up.

Also there may be other areas that are normally not for public use, and might be accessible with permission.
