Hey everyone, I'm pretty much a noob to RC Crawlin' (had a Nylint when they first came out). My son and I are looking to get a new rig, but was looking for someone in the Columbus GA area to take us under their wing to help. I'm looking for either a club, or band of friends into crawling, and a hobby shop in the area. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -Glen |

I've actually fished there before. I don't know how crawl friendly it would be, but if I get time I'll go take another look. |

pics: But the island in the middle looked very promising. I drove over to the other side and looked for a way down there. It would require 4wd and some decent tires, and you would have to drive through some private property. Or you could bring a really small boat and cross from the GA side. Might have to try that out some time. They are in the process of tearing down some of the dams in the downtown area to let the river flow in a more natural way. This is good for a number of reasons, one of which is a bunch of rock that's currently under water will be exposed. It might turn into an awesome spot! It's also going to be a great place to kayak/raft. Last edited by 92PathSE; 12-28-2010 at 07:50 PM.

Thanks for going by there Will. Do you think there is enough rock to make it worth while to have a little GTG at the spot off the side of the sidewalk? How far is it away from a parking area, or is it a high traffic area that may bring unwanted attention? |

Little GTG, yes. There's about 10 parking spots about 100yds away. Security might be an issue. Sometimes there's a good bit of foot and bike traffic down there. It's light during the week though. I was there for 45 minutes and only saw one person. It's nowhere near Flat Rock quality, but might be good if you guys come up during the week and want to change it up.

Weather doesn't look too good today. I've got to go to town anyway, so might as well go to Flat Rock. There might be a couple people coming out. I'll be there sometime before 1PM.
