Got my hands on a different chassis for dirt, dirt cheap & scored a deal on a almost complete Tundra high lift body. It’s not the 5th gen Runner I wanted, but I couldn’t pass up this opportunity... New chassis is a barely used, bone stock Redcat Everest 10 (Idk what it is with me & RedCats... *shrug*) with very minimal scratches, which I’m assuming was more a house crawler than anything. Tundra body was pretty much untouched. All still in its packaging, but all opened. Either the guy lost the hardware bag or he bought everything & then realized he didn’t have everything needed to assemble the body together. Already purchased a pair of used Gen7 frame rails to McGuyver onto this chassis. Something like I did with my RS10, except I’ll have some better suspension mounting options with the Gen7 frame & an easier way to mount the body. Need to swap out to some shorter links to bring the wheelbase in a little bit as it’s a little too long for the Tundra body. Cut up & mocked some 1.55 Mud Slingers onto my extra 2.2 wide monster truck wheels that I need to repaint black & clear over. Cut the stock Everest tire foams to fit the diameter of the Mud Slingers to “balloon” the tire edges out & stretch them a little better. Lighting will probably be courtesy of MyTrickRc again. Might find a way to mount a couple speakers in the bed for some tunes since my other 2 trucks both have sound systems in them but we see. Paint will be in the form of Toyota “Hawaiian Cement” gray as is available on the newer generation Tundra & Tacos with a little metallic flake added to it...unless I can find a metallic paint in that color or close to it. Should be nice once its all done. Crazy you got 1.55s to stretch over those redcat 2.2s. Those wheels are WIDE haha

I had to cut the bead off the 1.55s. I originally bought them for my deep dish wagon wheels, but I wasn’t a fan of the look. Too much sidewall. Lol. These wheels pictured are actually 2.2 monster truck wheels that measure at 2.5” wide as opposed to the stock Redcat beadlocks which are only 2” wide. Did it for shits & giggles, but I actually got it to work, so I left it. Lol. The passenger side has the stock Redcat wheels wrapped in the 1.55 & it wasn’t as stretched. It looked good, but I like that deep lip look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by kANAkSz; 07-14-2020 at 10:48 PM. | |

Got some color on the Tundra. Rustoleum Dark Steel Metallic. 2 coats primer. 1 light coat color followed by 1 medium coat. Finished with 3 coats gloss. Wet sanded & polished with Meguiars Ultimate Compound. Sprayed the center grill & center of the bumper satin black. Tinted the headlights & tails with VHT Niteshades. Some quick ghetto shots of the long bed hilux taken today at the in-laws. Love that backdrop view of Kalihi & downtown they have. Did a little mudding around... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by kANAkSz; 07-29-2020 at 05:22 PM. |

Everest-10 Tundra somewhat complete... Trying my hand at some DIY deep dish rims. Using 2 sets of cheap 1.9 axial beadlocks, cutting the faces off one set, grinding & sanding down the barrel & gonna JB weld the 2 rims together. Looks good so far. Just gotta get some coarser sandpaper to knock down the barrel a little more, primer, paint & should be good to go. Quick mock up with the 2 rims taped for now. Mounted a 1.9 Mudslinger on it to gauge the look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| Re: Revival time Tundra looks good! Try 2 sets of foams in the 1.9s. Should give the tire a more inflated look. Might be harder to put the beadlocks on too though. Just trim till it works
