Swapped out the rear shocks to 110mm kings with no springs and added gelande 2 shock hoops to the rear

Interesting rear leaf spring setup! I haven't seen that before. You wouldn't happen to have a vid of it out on the rocks??

By the way, good looking TF2!"thumbsup"

Kind of an old school 1/4 elliptical setup I remember seeing a lot on 1:1 yotas. From what I remember guys would complain of unloading on descents.

Im curious how it handles on the tf2 also [emoji1303]

I do follow him on IG and have seen his awesome vid clips! Love how his rigs look on the rocks! I didn’t realize that was the setup on his trucks. Thanks for letting me know![emoji1303]

Wow, never knew that setup was used on the 1:1 rigs either. Now after seeing how well it works on the TF2, I may try it out on my Marlin.

Re: Dialing in one of my TF2’s

I experimented with a 3/4 elliptic setup very similar to that on my 1:1 ~20 years ago (when the hell did I get old?!) While it was an easy way to get absurd amounts of flex, it had some very strange side effects and I quickly abandoned it in favor of much longer leafs.

That said, in the "1/10" scale world not everything scales the same (I can't reasonably fit 6.86" long 10 leaf packs with 48mm travel shocks netting 7" of articulation) so I could see the 3/4 setup working pretty well here... hopefully without the unpredictable unloading (like "rollover" Revolver shackles do too) or the u-joint/yoke/main leaf breaking axle wrap, or the violently sharp slap of the 1/4 leaf whacking the frame after going airborne. Have you done anything to address axle wrap?

I am a die hard leaf spring guy so I hope my post didn't come off as negative. I very much appreciate seeing people running the more obscure setups and not caving and running coilovers!

I have seen his videos and follow him on IG (I am very surprised he is not in here) ... he does detail explanations of his set ups and is very informative ... I an planning to adventure on a similar set up inspired by his work for a second TF2 kit I have (LWB). He does address axle wrap ... not only does he run military wrapped leaf ends but he also has anti-wrap bars on both sides of the rear, IIRC he also makes his own leave springs out of softer recoil which he makes slightly longer. It is definitely worth a look on instagram if you like leaf sprung tiny trucks.

I’ve browsed through his fb page and he has some nice trucks for sure
