Update, JRH, I seem to have fixed the problem, after rewiring everything and reprogramming the esc 4 times, i took the antenna, which has always been on a plastic tube ziptied to the chassis plate horizontally, and i stood the antenna up and the glitching dissapeared, so the problem was the antenna placement after all, and now i am a happy camper with my sidewinder esc. Btw my servo is a hitech 645. |

Ok, I just found out some usefull info just 5 mins ago for you guys with the new sidewinder. If you want to run your sidewinder with a BRUSHED motor and do not have a castle link to program that speed control by default it is set for brushless. With that said, in order to "stick" program you controler to run brushed motors you need to be able to hear the beeps corisponding with each different setting. So you have to have a BRUSHLESS motor to initially program it to brushed. So if you don't have a brushless motor you need the castle line software... As far as i know unless theres a way to hook up the white brushless wire to your brushed motor to get it to beep... It took me 2 hrs to figure that out so I thought i'd help somebody else out...

Use the red and black wires. The beeping will be faint (you can also watch the led's), but a brushed motor will still beep.

I understand how to hook it up but It won't beep through a brushed motor when it's set on brushless (default). But I did not know about being able to watching the leds that good info.... thanks for replying... JRH

What size are the motor plugs on the sidewinder? Will it work well with the crawlmaster sport? I see you recommend a MM or Quark. I would like to place an order for one of the crawlmaster sports, but I want the plugs on, I don't know what size plug is on the sidewinder and it is currently at home while I am at work. Thanks Matt |

The sidewinder uses 4mm long plugs, the same 4mm plugs I carry. I need to change my site, as the sidewinder would work great too. |

JRH, what would be your suggestion for a starting gear set up. I am going to be running the sidewinder on 10 cells. A crawlmaster sport into an RC4wd trans. I'm curious where you would start for pinion size? This is my first go at brushless motors.

Do you think this ESC would handle dual 35t brushed motors in a Super class clod? Or would the MM still be the way to go?

| I doubt it will handle it well as it's only spec'd for a 19T motor in FWD/REV mode. With dual 35T's in parallel in a Super, my opinion is that the MM is a much safer choice.

Two 35t in parallel will be pushing it, I would recommend the MM. | |

It crawls really well, Pretty much all of my rigs have either a mamba max or a sidewinder. They are certainly my choice for comp use.
