Ran my new bully based rig with the 45t torquemasters this weekend, one of them being the one I had to send back, and they're doing great. Thanks for the help JRH.

John...how would one of your 25t handwounds do in a scaler?? i know the wheel speed would be there, but would they still be fairly smooth on the bottom end? im just addicted to wheel speed!!

i have been running integy lathe motors cause they are cheap.....

its time i step up and get a real motor and im thinking about one of your handwounds.

would a 35t have enough torque and low speed control comparable to a lathe 45t ?

im looking for more wheel speed but also want enough torque as well. im running 14/87 gearing on 11.1 volts

im thinkin ill order one next week

I have run 20t motors on 4s in my scaler, and it still has smooth control.

You will have more power and torque than the lathe 45t. Bottom end will be smoother, and wheelspeed will be greater.

I have about 60 coming in next week.

JRH,

I purchased 2 45t handwound 540's about 6 weeks ago. Today while practicing I started getting very bad clod stall than my rear motor would not run at all unless i held the trigger and turned the rear tires by hand. I came home and pulled the motor. The comm looked fine from looking in through the brush slot. I used my comm cleaner and ran the motor on a drill for about 45 seconds. The brushes seemed in decent shape but I cleaned those also. Still have the same issue. I threw a Integy 55 I had sitting around in the truck and it works fine. Any suggestions on what you think may be wrong? :-(

The timing may have been a bit off and the comm got burned. A comm cut should fix the issue.

Inventory updated.

Question- I have been running integy 55t on 3s lipo (berg rig). I have tried 35t integy's and didn't have the smoothness and ended up breaking a lot of driveline parts because of getting off line. I know I want a little more wheelspeed but if its at the expense of smoothness, I'll pass. The extra wheelspeed sure does help in roll over recovery, you can really make things happen....lol

Do guys mess around with throttle exp when using the hotter winds? Do you tend to run a little different radio settings or speedo settings?

Thinking about going with 45t. With a little radio tweaking, could I be just as happy with 35t. 35t seem to be the most popular in the Berg rigs.

I don't mess with expo generally, I just use a finer throttle finger. If expo is dialed in, it makes the upper end touchier- which I don't like.

The 45t and 35t motors are pretty close in popularity. I tend to grab 35t for my rigs.

Just full motors right now. I am getting some armatures in on the next order though.
