Default FXR and BEC

I do like the FXR. I have three. If you use 3s lipo, you must use a CC BEC or you will not be happy with it. The amp draw from the servos and the esc are to much for the 3A internal bec.

hi john,
im looking to run a Tekin (mainly for the size) and lipo in my axial. im currently running a 7t cobalt, rooster crawler & 7cell saddle pack. what sort of lipo would you recommend for the cobalt, and how would it go with a Tekin, or would i need to go a mamba max.
cheers, Seb

The Tekin would be awesome, I run them with my cobalts with no issue.

I would recommend at least a 35amp battery for the 7t. If you are going to run 3 cell you may even want to use a 45 amp battery for longer battery life.

hi jrh,
thanks for the help, but to narrow it down would there be any lipo you sell on your site that you would recommend? i no nothing about batteries, but i will most likely run it on my front axle so size is a bit of an issue. but as for choosing the right specs, id rather get expert advice. any help with a charger would be great aswell.
feel free to email or pm me the answer, instead of cluttering up this thread , but i cant pm you so i just posted instead.
cheers, Seb

No, please DO clutter up the thread, 'cause I want to know the answer too! I plan to run the FXR + Cobalt7T, but I don't know which battery to get. Will this battery fit on the optional Axial batt/servo tray, and is this what you'd recommend for the FXR+7T?

I am running the FX-R Pro with 2 35t HHH motors in my berg. On 2s I had no problems. When I switched to 3s, I get all 6 light on and everything stops when climbing. I know other people are running this same combination. If I run a cc bec, wold that help my situation. I figure if I take the load off the bec, maybe it would help with the thermal shut downs? Or are these motors to much?

EDIT:
I hooked up the cc bec at 6 volts and it took care of the problem

Default FXR - hotwire Current settings?

I just recently got your FXR (week to 10 days ago), set it up in my Axiel 2.2 comp and using a Holmes 35T, a CC BEC to the servo's and 2S and 3S lipos. Gearing not low, 13-87.
I also just got your Hotwire and also being a newbie with ESC etc. (old nitro guy) took some time to get it all ready. I have played with it around the yard and messed with the setting. Saturday was my first trip to the rocks. I was using my 3S lipo and 5 minutes into crawling the FXR went up in flames..... So what did I do wrong??? I can't tell you all the setting now, because it is fried, I do know it was set for 3S cutoff, instant reverse, and the current was high 60-70??? This is probably the reason for the fried FXR? I thought the current setting had something to do with throttle control. Any help, advise... would greatly be appreciated...
Thanks Norris..

Sounds like a bad unit from the factory. All warrenty is done through Tekin, per their request. Just give them a ring and they will take care of you.

The current run should be done in about two weeks.
