The Hotwire is not included? Is this required to custom program or is that done with the button on the Esc?

| The Hotwire is not included with the ESC. Although it would likely make programming easier, it is not required to set up the speed control. The FX-R is probably the easiest ESC's I've set up with out a USB link. You don't need the transmitter to change the controller's settings, just the two buttons and the blinking lights.

| Do you consider these to be better than a Mamba Max? Are there more setting options for the Tekin? I only ask because I've been running MM's on all my rigs for a long time now but have been considering trying this one since its so small, however it will only take 9 cells where my MM can take up to 12. What are the advantages/disadvantages of the Tekin over the MM? Why is this one preferred over the MM other than the size? Thanks for your response John.

I couldn't tell a difference between the two, driving them without knowing which was which. The tekin is smaller and easier to stick program. It cannot handle the same amount of power as the MM, which may be trivial in a crawler. I use them for the smaller size and nothing more, as compared to a Castle product. |

A Castle BEC is what I use to power my hungry servos. I set it to 6v generally.

CC BEC has a 10 amp rating... is this the reason for using it? The internal BEC in the FX-R is set at 6v 3A. So voltage isn't the issue??... it's the amperage??!! |

Hey John so does this mean that you can do all this without the hot wire: Programmable features: Drag brake - 13 steps Neutral width - 13 steps Current limiter - none, 12 steps Push control-anti drage - 13 steps Throttle profiles - 7 choices Brake profiles - 7 choices Reverse type - 3 steps Reverse strength - 13 steps Voltage cuttoffs - none, 2S, 3S, custom And what are the extra features with the hotwire? The only extra features of the hotwire are throttle curves, that I can think of. All the rest is easily adjustable via radio, everything you listed. |

I have found the strongest settings to be the same, and more difference with respect to drag brake depending on motor selection instead.
