No 8711 but I do run a CS170 @ 7V. I figure if it can pickup my 2.2 it should suffice for my MRC
Yeah, the motor only pulls 3.5amps, and an 8711 stalled out can pull 10 amps(like you'll ever stall it in a mini), so you would still be within the limits with 16 amps. The CS170 doesn't pull as many amps at stall as the 8711.
You should be able to break parts by just turning the tires, with 333oz/in:-P
I'll probably end up dropping an 8711 in my Losi as well, I run those servos in all my rigs.

Yep, that should be plenty for the setup. I got my motors to pull more than 3.5a once, but I didn't have a data logger on there to see how high the draw was. I only know because the FXR actually got warm. 30 seconds of totally wedged throttle.

Default Wire guage

John, I'm getting ready to load up my Losi MRC and I have 2 questions:

What wire guage would you suggest running with one of your Mini Torque Master motors and a Tekin FX-R, powered by a 2S Lipo?

Would the FX-R cap be needed for this application?

Thanks.

The cap is always installed, although I forgot to run one on mine. It will make the FETS last longer.

18awg wire would be fine. The amp draw is pretty dang low on these teeny guys.

They are all timed for both reverse and normal rotation, so there is no confusion.

I should get them back in stock by the time I am back from vacation, about two weeks.

I've been running mine now for about a month and couldn't be more impressed with this little guy. It has tons of tourqe and wheel speed. Thanks a bunch John for getting these together.

Yes, I agree on the thanks John. There are options out there but because of your Puller and what I have learned and read I more than confidently chose your motor for my mini.

Is this a direct bolt on replacement? What kind of soldering is required?
