Default 10t Cobalt Puller Armatures and motors

Just got word that the factory still has parts to make the armatures for the Cobalt Puller 550 can. I am getting a run of 10t armatures made, so all of you folks with 7t Pullers can swap them out if you want. Unfortunately they don't have the tooling to make the cans anymore, so we can't get full motors manufactured anymore.

The arms will take about 6 weeks to manufacture, and around two more weeks to get into my hands. If you are interested then you can post up here so you can keep updated. I will not put these on my site for sale until they are made and on the way to me.

If another wind is popular, I could have it made too. The 10t is around 1700kv, so it works very well on 3s lipo in heavy rigs. The only other wind I could think of is 12t, but it may just be slow and need too much voltage to wake up.

I might just have to pick one of those up. How much do you think they'll be?

The price will be in line with (or less than) the 7t arm, which is currently $40.

I have already sent payment to the factory, so it will be right around 6 weeks.

So there will only be armatures available for existing pullers. Your pullers are now collectables? Will you be able to build a new version of the 10T? Puller 2.0?

They will be coming in either monday or the 20th of the month.

Good news is that I have enough cans to build some motors as 10t complete to sell.

Awesome news!

Hey JRH, sorry, I know its a little off topic. But... how much voltage can the 10 turns handle? I am looking to run 4 cell A123, and or 4 cell lipo.

How does the 10T armature compare to the 7T, in terms of torque and wheelspeed? (In other words, why would I want to swap my 7T arm for a 10T?)

More torque per amp, less wheelspeed. Basically if you are getting the same runtime, you are using more torque.

The 10t is perfect on 3s, while the 7t arm gets kinda hot.

can I preorder a complete motor? You have me hooked on the 35T torque master motor, now I'm ready for more power!

Yeah, I noticed that. I had been running a 14T pinion on my stock Axial tranny, but recently put in a 12T pinion to see if the Cobalt 7T would run cooler. I can't really tell. It's still too hot to touch.

Count me in for a new 10T armature. Post up the link to the order page when you've got the arms in stock.

Just got them in and they were made wrong. Gotta send them back or wait on my machinist to get them turned down. Fawk!

John,

Do you hand-wind those Cobalt armatures?
