Can't say enough good things about this company and these speed controls!

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I just switched the ESC in my Wraith from an AE-2 to a waterproof BRXL. I did not change anything about my set up except for the ESC. I calibrated it and all the beeps and lights for forward, reverse, and neutral did exactly what the instructions say they should have. I am stumped on what to do next???

ESC beeps like it should when plugging in the battery. The ESC with no input just blinks green rapidly and has no power to the motor forward or reverse and no power to the servo left or right. When it neutral it just flashes green rapidly.

Here's everything I have tried so far:

1. Swapping motor leads and recalibrating.
2. Switching throttle to 120% forward and reverse.
3. Adjusted throttle trim.

Everything I have tried leaves it unresponsive motor/servo wise and it just continues to flash green in neutral.

Can you adjust throttle trim until the green light turns off? If you have no servo response, that means no power is getting to the rx. Ensure the rx wire is plugged in correctly, brown should be closest to the outer edge of the rx.

Thanks for the help, I tried adjusting throttle trim and there's no change, flashes green no matter what the trim is set at. It's gives all the proper beeps per the instructions when it's calibrated and when a battery is plugged in as well. Everything is plugged in correctly.

Yes, I tried reversing it as well. It's just weird because it calibrated fine but nothing has any power after plugging it back in. No responses from the servo or motor and just flashes green while in neutral.

Your RX is not getting power or booting up if the servo isn't working. Double and tripple check the ESCs RX wire is plugged in correctly, check that there is 6v power on the red and brown wires. If that is the case, you hopefully just need to rebind the radio. Everything is pointing to the radio system as the issue.

Never thought about rebinding, I'll try that and report back. I pulled a working ae2 out and just swapped the deans so I can't retest the old esc. Hopefully it's something that simple.

John, what would cause little no no throttle response in reverse? Improper TX calibration?

And the answer to my question is... Yes!

Hallo john, my BRXL works great on my wraith with CM pro 13t and as well with TM pro 35t.

Till now I never had to adjust the ESC with the castle link but I do have a question. The Esc is very smooth in forward, drag brake is perfect, but when going in reverse it is extremely sensitive, that means I have poor control in rearward. I tried by reducing EPA in my TX, and as well to use exp to make it smoother but it is still sensitive while going rearward.

I suppose I have to try to set it up with the castle link, but my question is, have you ever experienced this? What setting would you recommend to have the same smooth low end control in reverse like the front control?

Thanks for your kind reply

Set the curve for trottle in reverse so it gets a mutch smoother startup when you,,
The curve now is a strait line across the screen,,,if you bend the line like a quarter off a circle you will have a mutch smoother startup,,,

Reverse issues are generally transmitter related, especially ones with 70/30 triggers. You can change the throttle profile in castle link, or you could decrease the reverse speed a bit.

Just went brushless setup for my new wraith, but pretty psyched about trying this esc too with some 35t/3s action. Love the simplistic design on it, how much it's supposed to handle, and ofc. waterproofed already. Also like that it has a Quiet mode, was a main reason I used FXR before. Just wanna try something new.

I played a bit with the castle link and eventually found a set up that solve my reverse speed issue! Thanks

BTW I tried the option Holmes Hold (if I remember it correctly) I figured out the use of it but while standing still downhill it makes a motor noise as if it was working with the throttle fw/rw to keep it still ....

Is it the way it is supposed to work?

Thanks as usual

Damn that holmes hold is a great dragbreak,,,
Me and my friend was out and crawled today as we do almous every day the weater allows it...
And he has 2xtekin fxr,the same as I had before and he has his dragbreak on 100% and I have the holmes hold on 30% front and 50% rear and my car is still standing still in maby 60-70* hill,,,
that is awsome,,
but I think the holmes hold uses alot off battery power,, because when I am finished with my first maxamps 860mAh after maby 25-30min he still goes on when I am and changin battery and when he has used up his first there goes max 10-15 min before I have to change again,,,that said I have 35T and he has 40T motors,,,
and I have a more agressive driving style,,like when I fall and end upside down I dont take the crawler with my hands,,I drive and drive untill I get traction somewhere and turn myself around,,,

I was also thinking about battery draining quicker, however I use 5000mAh 3cells (on a wraith) and my drive time won't be effected so much I guess... But what about the noise? Is it just the result of the motor working to keep the vehicle still?

I am not talking about the standard setting of the brake % but specifically the setting "Holmes hold", what's the difference between using 100% drag brake compared to selecting Holmes hold mode?

Thanks for any reply!

BRSL won't be made again, but I think we may have a few units here left over. The BR mini is going through a hardware change that will put it on the same power level as the BRSL was.
