Stick programmable and computer programmable via Castle Link. Most crawlers can use one high torque servo with the internal BEC power. |
I have a small amount of these here, but I am waiting on stickers to be done. If you want me to put them up on the site and ship the stickers later, I can do this. The firmware update to work with Castle link will be a few more weeks out. So far none of my testers have gotten them to blow up. 6s on a stock emaxx was the hardest it was pushed, it hit 215F but didn't thermal. I recommend a max temp of 170f for longest ESC life. |
Got me one coming, can't wait!!! Stickers can wait. |
Nice to see these in production John. Quick questions... The bullet inputs are 4mm correct? Will the firmware/Castle compatability be a download or would the ESC need to be sent in? Is the low end throttle as smooth as say a Mamba Max or Sidewinder? Thanks! |
are these the esc's you had at the last capen gtg? |
Yep, same ESC. 4mm inputs. I forgot to put in the mating male plugs in today's orders, but will be including them in future orders. When you get the new Castle firmware, it will recognize my ESC and you will have full control from there. I made sure that future Link updates would also include any updates that I may put into the ESC. I recognize that Castle is ahead of the pack when it comes to this, so I made a deal with them to have use of their software. Super easy for you. Low end throttle is buttery smooth, more steps than most radios can give even. Once Linkable you can control features such brake, drag, hold, reverse, and others; plus I will have more crawler/scaler specific options in the future. |
What is the default BEC output voltage? Can the BEC output voltage be changed via the Castle Link? Im feeling a little power hungry and may need to order one real soon. |

BEC is set to 6v. There wasn't enough room to put a variable regulator inside. My brushless ESC will have variable BEC output however. |
So you don't have to run a seperate bec with this esc I take it? |
Correct, unless you have BIG servo requirements. Supers will be the most likely vehicles needing another BEC. But, since most supers run two ESCs they still may not need an external BEC when using these. |
Sweet I'll just have a Hitec 5955 with 2 45t's and a punk dig switch on a Berg. |
In, thanks for the chance! We'll see if I can blow one of these up "thumbsup" |
I doubt you will be able to unless you purposly aim to fry one. My locals keep frying motors. A 9t handwound was no match. 19t motors were no match. Looks like dual motors on an emaxx sized truck are the closest bully for these. |
Will you have a give away for one these baby's???? I gotta have one. |
You guys are gonna love these, beat on them with confidence"thumbsup" |
This ESC is going to be awesome John.!!! I can't wait till mine gets here for Peanut the Rock Racer and you know Guido will have one. "thumbsup" No external BEC means one less thing to hide in a scaler. "thumbsup" Great work JRH. |
Can't wait to get mine......guess the 3 cells are gonna get pushed aside now. |
I can't wait to get mine. Thanks for the work that you have put into these John. "thumbsup" |
I forgot to mention there is no on/off switch. You plug it in, it is on. I hate switches, always getting in the way and making extra mess. |

yes these are sweet...everyone will be very happy... i ran the piss out of my emaxx with dual motors on both 4s and 6s and still didnt fry it...came close but no go... also ran both a 12t and a 19t on 4s in the slash and both motors fried, even tried gearing way down the trottle control is great. |
I forgot to add the one year warrany on these guys, added to the first post. |
No power switch...one year warranty...this just keeps getting better and better 8) |
Any chance you will be coming out with some BIG emaxx motors to really test this thing out with? |
nahh, no big brushed motors for me. Kershaw designs has that stuff though. |
any idea when these will start shipping out? |

Congratulations jrh! This ones been in the works for a while! |
Got my controllers today, thanks John for all the work you have put into these. I am going to see how the M.O.A Losi likes 4s with some of your 35 turn motors and these new speed controls. With out a CCBEC or ON/ OFF switch it is going to clean up the trucks wiring a lot which is a big plus. |
Just did the first test run. Holy crap this thing is smoother on the bottom than a stripper  Running an old Integy 35t on 6 NiMH (yeah I know, not pushing it too much am I?) and it's as smooth as a sensored BL. Drag brake kicks ass, too. The only thing I'm concerned about is those little weeny receiver wires. Are you sure they won't essplode under a 5A draw? |
They could warm up, yes. The RX plug itself is a huge limit. |
Got a pair coming for my New berg build. Thanks man. |

Let me reread that. Quote:
I'll have to try it for myself, then go get some strippers and blow and see where you're coming from. |
Hows the drag brake? Is it stronger? |

I have a 4s batt on the way, rockracer rig here I come  |
Any idea on when a decision will be made as to whether you'll be offering these in a waterproof version for an additional fee? |
I just smoked my fxr and I love the drag break on the fxr. So if your drag break is compairable or better to a fxr then I will probably get one when I save up some cash. |
