I would pay the $15.00 per motor for the slotting

Hey john: I picked up a used puller 500 and love it! But it is running hot with 3s, an 11t pinion, and 87t spur on a stock axial tranny/motor plate. I ordered a 3 racing 9,10,11t pinion set set but the closed end of the small 9 and 10t pinion didn't fit on the long motor shaft far enough. My question is this, do you iknow where I can get a 9t pinion that will fit my setup? Thanks for all the help!
P.S. I love my BRXL as well!

Any idea if you will be offering slotting in the near future? I would like to try some in my berg. Whats the best setup for the berg? 16t on 3s?

We are still working out the slotting, every machinist I have do it is excited at first and then doubles his price to try and keep me from having them do it again :lol: I have a machine that we are setting up for in house slotting, hopefully it works as well as I think it will.


In other news we just got some blank armatures so we can custom wind anything you need. Anything! We are doing a 18t for a customer right now matter of fact.

How much more for a custom wind? I'm already thinking that (so long as you can go the slotting) I might pick up another set of these motors. Would there be any real benefit in going to say 4s and 18t over 16t and 3s?

The prices are listed on the site, it is $5 more for the custom.

The startup amperage would be lower on the 18t motor, so you could have a bit more low end efficiency than compared to the 16t.

Would going to something like a 20t (which from a rough guess off kv values on your site is still faster than a 35t) have a decent torque increase over the 16t's I've got now? I probably wouldn't mind losing a little speed if I could get a bit more torque, as that seems to be the only down side to these motors. Also how far out do you think you are on having your new machine up and running to do slotting?

I need a pair of the 454's 16t for a new project, are you offering them slotted again?

I am curious about the adaptor plate as well since I noticed on the website they do not come with the motors anymore, do you still have these available?

Got my motors in today John, thank you for that.
What hardware do these cans accept?
I've tried 4/40, and 3mm, neither seemed to want to engage.
Or I could just be being too cautious not wanting to strip it out.

Mr. Holmes. I just purchased a set of new, unused, puller 400 series, 13t motors.
Thinking about tossing these in my Berg axled rig to see if I can destroy some parts.
Was planning on running 13t pinions, 3s batteries, and sidewinder micros.
This combo = Success or does this combo = EPIC FAIL
Was also wondering if anything needs to be done to these motors before running, they have been sitting for quite some time.
I work with a company that stocks a considerable number of elestric motors, gear boxes, reducers, etc. We have programs to rotate those motors, etc, to keep the bearings from flat spotting, etc.
Am hoping the same isn't true for these little monsters, but figured I should ask before I destroy an expensive and maybe impossible armature or other parts..

I would pinion down to 10t if you have it. The small rotor likes geardown. Otherwise, just drive em.

Hi -

have get today 2 Cobalt Puller 454 14T for less $$$ "thumbsup"

Now i have 2 questions - i want to run one of these in my Sportsman Rig - it weights about 1400g (3lb 0.8oz). Can i run this little Monster with my Micro Sidewinder?

Second question - is there any chance to run it on 3S?

3s is great on the 14t. You should be fine with the sw micro, just gear down as much as possible.

Hey john, any update on those 454 pullers you said you have ? You I think you said you only have 11 turns left is this right?
