Yes, exactly. TM has more drag and won't turn as slow.

so to be close to mechanical brake as losi lcc you suggest me torquemaster instead of crawlmaster?
with active hold tires are completely locked when i release throttle?
sorry for several request but i haven't yet try your ESc, i used your Tm pro with tekin fxr but sometimes in vertical rocks truck doesn't stay stop..
until few day after your explanation i will order 2 BR-Xl and 2 hh motors.

JohnRobHolmes 07-25-2011 01:35 PM

active hold can lock up completely, no matter what motor.

For best mechanical brake without Hold mode, the TorqueMaster is better. With the losi, you don't need drag brake so any motor will work fine.

but..hold mode is in the long run dangerous for motors ?
does crawlmaster with hold mode lock tires completely?
i have to reach a goal closest to mechanical brake but i like the smoothness of crawlmaster that you describe;-)

JohnRobHolmes 07-25-2011 01:50 PM

Hold mode can wear on the motor a bit, especially if it is turned too high. Hold mode will lock any motor, even the crawlmaster.

so generally so suggest to combine hold mode and standard drag brake for motor longevity?

JohnRobHolmes 07-25-2011 02:18 PM

I suggest turning down the hold as low as possible to keep the motor happy. It is a fine balance.

oneeye 07-25-2011 08:53 PM

So it sounds like I may not have much brake with my FXRs ? Should I rethink these or will they work for me?

Do you have any idea when you maybe getting the parts for these? I ordered custom 17 t motors and I now want 16 t motors when they are available. Please let me know if you can change my order.

Please check this thread guys, John had a death in the family, and business is put on hold for the time being.

Thanks for the bump.

I can certainly do that, I have some 16t arms just finished we can ship you. Can you send me an email confirmation with your order number, or post your order number here so there is no mistake on who you are?

oneeye 08-05-2011 04:14 PM

My order # is 7180. The last name is Vance. Thanks

Onebdgti 08-06-2011 08:43 PM

I would like to get a 11t arm from you

Tommy R 08-09-2011 03:21 PM

Hi John,

I'm sure you're still playing catch up, but do you know when you'll have more Crawlmasters back in stock? In particular, I'm interested in a 13t for my Wraith.

Thanks in advance!
Tommy

We should have more 13t done soon, we are waiting for more balance epoxy for the next batch. Epoxy should come in this week, we have 50x wound and ready for balancing.

tomer 08-22-2011 12:17 AM

was wondering how these motors would hold up in a 7 to 8 pound scaler on 4s?

Tommy R 08-22-2011 09:08 AM

John, any updates on your stock status for the Crawlmasters? Particularly a 13t?

Quite well I would say. I would suggest a 20t or slower.
