Yes, normally green for go and red for reverse..

Any advantage to upgrade the 1.08 firmware to 1.09 on the first gen BR minis?

So this one goes out to John, I just got one of the smashed units. I had a BEC smashed with it, how do I set the voltage on the BEC? With out cutting open the wrap and un soldering one of the leads to it. I'm assuming it's set at 5.1v. Also after hooking everything up my rear lags. It didn't do it with my FX-R's. I've checked the mesh on the rear and front. Nothing is binding, any thoughts?

What tx do you have? Did you calibrate one esc at a time or both at once?

Can you post a pic of the smashed in bec? I just want to see how it's done.

You should be able to just plug the bec into the castle link to set the voltage. Not have to unsmash/open anything up.

I have a futaba 614, I did not calibrate one at a time. When I finished wiring everything up it just started calibration on its own when I plugged in the battery. as far as the BEC smashed in it's just soldered in to the bat leads and shrink-wrapped with the ESC's.

The reason I ask about un-soldering one of the leads, is that is what I had to do with the older version of the CC BEC. Maybe setting the voltage should be an option before it gets put together.
Thanks
Vince

If you can't program the BEC normally, plug a battery into the speed controllers and it will boot everything up and let the computer see the BEC. The 5v USB source isn't quite powerful enough to boot up multiple products, most of the time. Good suggestion about the BEC voltage on a combo, we will add that if it isn't already.

Your startup issue will be caused by one of your throttle channels having a different neutral trim. Adjust one channel or another until they startup the same.

Thanks John, Will do that. That's some quick service.

Sometimes I catch stuff on RCC, sometimes I don't. When in doubt the email or phone call through our website is best, I've got 5 employees now that get paid to help out

Hey all,

Just installed my br minis and am using red for forward green for reverse. Should I rewire it the correct way around? Is there a benefit?

Also I am only running a bec for the steering servo and the ESCs with all wires are plugged into the rx. Is this alright? I had no issues driving a pack or two last night but I want to check before I take this out for a few hours.

Thanks

Imo yes fix green light forward. Some say only 1 red wire from esc to receiver, but I've ran both red wires hooked in to receiver & was ok.

I'm using a BRSL with a Holmes Axle Buster & 4S. It's had a good run of a couple years, but starting to act glitchy. I tried to replace it with a BRXL but my chassis won't fit it without some rework (size).

Is the BR Mini up for this kind of abuse? Otherwise I guess I could make my own BRSL.

The current mini will absolutely take it.

Hmmm, I bought a pair only a couple months after their initial release, but haven't used them yet. Is there an issue? If they've been upgraded, can I get these upgraded?

They will run hot without some mods.

The easiest method to reduce temps is to feed them a bit more than 6v through the RX wire so it takes the load off the internal BEC. If you run up to 6.5v on your servos this works very well.

We can't update controllers unfortunately, the brain board got a complete hardware redesign.
